Summarize your game!
Desume is a single player card game played against an opponent.

Each player gets 5 cards and the playing field consists of 5 types of cards that can be played. Once a slot is filled it can be altered or removed, but not simply replaced by another card of the same type.

Each turn the player draws a card and can play one card that either fills a slot on the field or a special card. If no card can be played, the player can discard a card. The turn then ends and the opponent's turn starts.

The score is calculated based on the cards and the combinations listed on the cards. The card can either be positively or negatively influenced by other cards on the player's side of the field.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
The theme of the game jam ‘the world is watching’ is used within the card game as a way to see your world and the opponent's world being created, changed and destroyed, either by yourself or the opponent.

Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?

Playability:
Difficult to understand at first but once you play around with combos it's quite enjoyable. Would do well with visual and auditory indicators of combinations to teach the player what is working well.

Theme:
This doesn't tie in with the theme well despite it being a fun submission. Don't stress it!

Cleverness:
Really love all the combos, elements, and switcheroos in these cards. You've done a good job making this complex and interesting.

Artistic Style:
Simple and consistent which is great. Would like to see simple effects for combos.

Interesting game. Think I ran into a bug where it kept discarding cards instead of playing them after previously selecting discard, but it was no longer highlighted.  Pretty cool entry!

I didn't feel the theme so strongly, but I did really enjoy the gameplay once I played a few rounds to figure out how it works. This feels like a lot of thought's gone into the mechanics, probably a couple paper prototypes, too. Keep it up! You've got something interesting on your hands!

This is really good I played it about 10 times in a row. Pretty unique card game too. I just wish the material and transport icons were swapped!!
