Really cool and promising overall. Some of the terminology was new to me, so it took a bit to get oriented at first. I often found myself guessing where certain things should go, which made the learning curve feel steeper early on.

That said, the user interface is strong, and the pacing works really well. The game moves quickly (almost too quickly), which makes it easy to replay and experiment, similar to Oregon Trail. The visuals were also solid and fit the experience well.

There’s a lot of potential here, especially for something that’s still a demo, and I’d be excited to see how it evolves. :)

Really liked the educational angle of this game, with the very specific references. It was very satisfying to see the population grow and thrive.

I left a response via your form. Like I mentioned there, I felt the most effective strategy was just to spam place everything as much as possible (which stopped me thinking strategically). It could be cool to see ecological thinking emerge in the game systems, making the best strategy about management and balance between the Moa and the different other species of plants and animals.

Really like the concept and the cute animations!

Please give my game a go if you get the chance :)

When I started, the game window was partly cut off on the right side so that I could not see all the plants over there. As soon as I started to resize the browser window, the game adjusted itself to fit the window.

The game could use with a tutorial, or at least some basic info on the game page. I've played games that are similar enough to this that I was able to muddle my way through, but never felt like I had the time to fully understand everything. I did start by pausing to skim everything, but tooltips don't really describe how things work in action. By the end I had a basic understanding of how to win, but did not feel invested in the game.

The message log felt like it faded too quickly, especially as I was learning things and constantly trying to look at other things in more detail. Considering the right column does not use up the full height, I would suggest increasing the size of the log area so more messages can be shown at once, and letting them remain for longer.

For my playthrough I didn't even register the goals, and only barely glanced at the current population stats. I focused on the eagles as threats and once I had enough put down some protection. I then worked to place a bit of everything out, figuring even if I did not fully understand, a balanced ecosystem is important. Then I spread out the protective ferns over much of the west side, and sprinkled the other things among them, other than the decoys which were mostly placed a bit east of cent, or near the eagles if they were attacking. My final score was 30 Moa, 1432 Mauri earned, with 662 remaining, 182 seconds, and a score of 41 points

Make sure to check that your game can automatically conform to multiple screen sizes. I couldn’t see any controls or anything so I randomly tried pressing keys until I saw that 1-6 worked. Then, I tried zooming my browser out and finally saw what I can do.

Outside of that, I’d say its a pretty fun little game of strategy and survival. I did struggle a little bit to understand that the Upland Moa in-game and in the title were the same since they had different sprites.

It's not obvious to me what I'm supposed to do. Maybe add a quick tutorial?
