One of my favorites so far. I was already impressed with the whole system and then I saw that you can even upgrade the spells. Very good!

Definitely one of the best in the jam. The artstyle, concept, and sfx are great. I think it feels very complete and feels like it goes beyond what you'd expect from a game jam game in terms of content. The only downside is that it's too easy to just only upgrade something like bite until you can one-shot everything but the bear. I felt like it was really cool that there was a diversity of words, but there wasn't a real incentive or need to use anything other than a highly upgraded word. I think to expand on the current game while fixing this, you could add enemies that are almost immune to certain types of damage, and/or have words lose power the more you use them, with those words regaining power as other words are used instead. But still, wonderful game, very epic.
cool mechanic, i would love to see this get updated in the future
EDIT: I would like more clarity on how many turns you have/the enemy has before attacking, I don't know how they internally work but I would suggest having icons that show how many turns have (like press turn games), it also seems that healing spells cost more turns so you could also show how many "turns they cost"
I don't know if that's actually how it works but still
also if it's a player then enemy turn phase system it should show phase changes before the turn starst
This game had a great concept! Maybe if there was some sort of character or something, even like a face, that could display you it could be helpful!
Great game! I liked the typing mechanic and how we chose our attacks by typing them, but I wish the enemies's attacks were more visible. I couldn't tell that I was dying until it was too late T-T.
Well, this is my favorite game so far in terms of core mechanics. The only thing that's a bit disappointing is that the enemies themselves don't interact with this mechanic. If you plan to develop the game or the idea further, a little idea i had while playing is that you have to type an attack word faster than the enemy types a defensive one, and maybe even create words that debuff mobs writing speed etc.
But overall, it's a super cool game with minimalist, beautiful visuals and excellent sound design.
