I like the art and the cutscene! Also I know it's unfinished but you can spam the attack by holding attack button lol, oh and also I suggest to turn off filter (billinear --> point) if you are using pixel art~

I liked the art. Sad, game very unfinished. One of the things that I noticed you attack basically useless.

Really like the art on this project, and its a fun story premise!

I will say that it looks like I ran into a bug where I died, but was still able to move, just not shoot, so I was basically just invisible and could only tell that things were still happening because the camera was moving lol

Also I'm not sure how the jailbird spawning algo works, but it might be good to circle back and tweak it a little bit - In my first attempt they all managed to cluster up and just form a wall of projectiles that I couldn't really do much about

Maybe an easy solution would be to prevent them from shooting if they aren't on screen, or just put a longer delay between jailbirds spawning in, but I suppose that depends on the back end.

Definitely a little rough around the edges right now, but it would be awesome to see the team come back and implement the original ideas after the jam is done, cause it definitely has potential!

Really nice intro cutscene. As others have pointed out, there are issues with fullscreen on ultra-wide monitors. A good way to fix would be to start in windowed mode or to set the resolution in the project settings. You can also consider making a web build too.

Beautiful opening scene and very cute Shiori sprite! Not totally sure if I actually managed to beat it? Enemies were gone after a while, so I'm gonna take it as a yes-- BUT, it's understandable, since you ran out of time. I'll definitely check it out if you decide to finish post-jam, I like the concept a lot!

I flew to the right for a while and eventually stopped seeing enemies or shots. I'm not sure what I missed.

I think before you prioritize such a long and slow cutscene, you should include a pause menu with a quit option (or maybe not default to fullscreen), and some in-game explanation of how anything works.

One other thing, windows 11 doesn't like the version of Unity you used. Before making anything further, you should update it so windows won't treat it as a virus.

The art is fantastic, I love the Shiori sprite.  And I liked the story you managed to write.  I'd never heard that song, it fits so well!

A shame you ran out of time, I think it had a lot of potential.

I liked the Shiori sprite. Very cute!

The intro cutscene was also very well done!

It's unfortunate you couldn't finish the game.

I also had an issue with the intro cutscene as it didn't fit on my ultrawide monitor (it cropped the top and bottom parts, so I couldn't read the text at the bottom). Running the game in windowed mode helped fix it.

I found it weird that Shiori could shoot to the left when all the enemies come from the right. Maybe you had plans to include enemies that enter the action from behind?

Cute little game.

Thanks for the input! Yeah there were plans for there to be more in terms of enemy angles of attack and more variety of enemy attacks, and even a grounded sections. We have discussed developing it more post Jam so will keep the cutscene issues in mind.

Neat idea, very Defender-like. I dig  the pixel art.

Some bugs found, implementing fixes and missing cut scene, try again after grace period.

There was a lot more to be implemented, but ran out of time for longer game, cutscenes, and sound design, but enjoy this short entry!
