I love the art style but the perspective makes it hard to dodge the rocks. I feel like this game would have been better if it started slow and gradually sped up, cause I always died in under 30 seconds no matter how hard i tried.

Developer

I agree, it's too fast. Thank you for the feedback! And thanks for playing!

Beautiful minimalist art style!
The camera perspective makes it really hard to anticipate where to go, which makes me play more reactively.
I found it easier if I kept the boat closer to the top-left of the screen, so it'd be further away, as it increased my reaction window.
The gameplay is a bit too simple though so I didn't end up playing for long.
Having no sound at all is consistent with the minimalist approach I suppose, but I'd prefer it had at least ambient music.

Developer

Thank you! I agree, I made the camera angle and the speed a bit unwieldy. And SFX/music are noticeably missing, so I'll add them in earlier next Jam!

I really appreciate you playing, and taking the time to comment!

Really great (infinite?) runner (I guess boater). I actually really like this concept, and I think it's 3D? It just has a great feel. The only thing I would say is to have more prediction time, because I can't get very far since things end up appearing very quickly and suddenly, and it might be right in front of me. Most of the time it's fine, but if it's an object right in front of me I end up crashing.

Very well made though, I like it a lot, I would just have more time for you to react!

Developer

Thank you! Yes, the speed is a bit out of hand, and I realized too late that while you *can* play on mobile, right-handed people will find their entire hand blocking the screen...

So good catch on the camera angle, haha! I appreciate your telling me!

A fun game! It'd be great to hear some sounds or bg music there.

Developer

Yes, I agree- I'll prioritize SFX next Jam for sure, it really makes a difference!

Thank you for playing, and your feedback!

I love the design of this game! It was hard for me to get very far in the game but that’s a skill issue haha. Nice job on the game dude!

I wonder if changing the view of the camera to look toward the rocks coming at you would make it easier to predict. But I can definitely waste a lot of time playing this game as it is haha

Developer

Thank you! It's not a skill issue, haha, I accidentally released this version at a wild speed. If you'd like, you can try the Post Jam version, which is a little more reasonable...

And thank you so much for playing! I'm grateful for the feedback!

awesome visual style! i feel as though you start a little too fast though

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yep, that was one of the first things I fixed for the Post-Jam version- this one is way too fast.

Thank you for playing! I really appreciate it!

Played a few runs, as it is really fun and fluid. Really adore the artstyle

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! It was a lot of fun to make.

Really nice, takes the classic avoid the obstacles and adds a fun way to control the boat and very nice visuals. Makes you go "just one more try".

As the other commenter said, it's a bit difficult, but I think it's great as it is. One thing I'd like to see is maybe a pause screen when the game is over, so that I'd have time to register what my score is. Now it's a bit difficult to say what my score is. This would greatly increase my need to compete with who gets the greatest score among my friends :P

Developer

Yes, I agree- the score is pretty useless if you have no idea what it was, haha...

Thanks for playing! I really appreciate the feedback!

Really cool and different from what I had in mind and created, but I think the rocks are seen a little too late before hitting them

Developer

Hey, thank you for playing! As part of my learning process, I'm working on a more polished post-jam version, so thank you for your feedback!

Very nice concept. It would be great if there was a game over screen or if it showed more when you get hit. But very cool idea :)

Developer

That's a good idea, or even putting the last highscore on the menu... 🤔

And thank you for playing!

cooooooooool! For some reason, it reminded me of the boat from hl2:D

Thank you! I was surprised at how a few little sine functions made the motion feel way smoother.

Thank you so much for playing!
