this is really cool! I love the idea of adding little mini games into a classic horror game. unfortunately, my last piece of garbage on the last level spawned inside a wall...so I couldn't win :( but the fact that I really wanted to shows how good of a game this could be! Hope you keep working on it! Great job!

Developer

Man i am so sorry about the last piece i tought i fixed this problems lol. But thank you for playing

Cool story with some really freaky game models! I loved the idea of exploring different levels of a monstrous casino. I kinda wish there was more casino games and less cleaning up after the messy monsters. The fog was also a little much - it washed everything out and made it a little hard to see. But the story, the VO , and the monsters themselves were really great. I enjoyed the intro comic with all of the backstory! Would love to see a version of this that is just a monster casino where you choose which table you want to play at and the stakes are extra high! Lose a hand? YOU LITERALLY LOSE A HAND! Overall, really solid stuff! Great job!

Developer(+1)

i added the cleanup bc i kinda got the idea from willy's wonderland movie lol and about the fog sorry about that i kept making it darker and darker to make the flashlight more useful but it got so bad

Submitted(+1)

Haha it's all good. A little tip - if you set the fog to a linear distance and make the fog starting point about 5 spaces on front of the player, it'll give you that spooky foggy vibe without covering the camera. Then if you make the fog color black, it feels like you're constantly walking into the darkness and the flashlight will make a nice effect! Try it out!

Damn i gotta try that out thank you for the tip

innovation: the idea is good, mixing a horror game with card games, and the idea of a monster for each floor was good, I like it.

execution: I dont know why the character is so small😅, the gameplay is good, but the flashlight is blinding and the dialogue repeats with every death, which gets annoying after a while.

polish: I assume the comic at the start, and the voice-over is AI. It's good, I like that you added a cutscene, but it really raises the expectations of the player just to see simple 3d models after a good cutscene.

Developer(+1)

I really tried to remove the dialogue after every death but that broke it entirely so i left it sorry about that. And the modules i really can't model at all i am still halfway in my blender course lol. Thanks for playing and commenting

I totally understand, for your first game jam this is good, the game is good and you said yo are learning blender and thats amazing, as long as you learn from your mistakes and keep making better games with each jam youre going to be a great gamdev on day if gods will😁
for the dialogue bug, I dont use unity but for me I make a persistent object and call it Ogame, and give this object all the calls that I want to conrol the game overall, id make a variable and make false, after finishing the dialogue it becomes true for the rest of the game, if you made the variable in the player code, it will reset and become false again after each daeth so the dialogue will never stops, but if you make it in a seperate object it will stay true for the rest of the game.
I dont know if you tried that, if not try it out and tell me if it works 👍

Developer(+1)

I actually did not try that I don't keep my code so tidy lol but I'm gonna try it now

Good concept, well done!

It lacked a bit of polish, but it seems to have an interesting premise.

Everything worked well for me. I thought the narration during gameplay was really cool.

At first, I laughed when I opened the credits, and there was nothing XD. Then I tried clicking “back” and it didn’t work - I stopped laughing. I guess you assumed no one would go there, haha. Jokes aside, I liked that you made a narration; even though some said there’s too much of it, I enjoyed it. The game could definitely use some polish,  but overall, it was an interesting experience.

Developer (1 edit)

Nooo at some point i was gonna add narration and more things to the credits but forgot. Thank you for reminding me lol I don't really keep track of what i do so i forget a lot of things. But thank you for playing and commenting

I think the concept is cool, and definitely awesome that you could get this far in 2 weeks :) I also like that you included dialogue.

Cool concept, I really liked the comic book style narrative at the beginning. The narrator was neat but I think a lot of his dialogue was too long. Could use a lot of polish, but good submission overall
