This game is disorienting but fun. I got gold medals (or on one a secret Supersonic medal) on everything but 6 up through level 8, though it was hard to figure out where to go at times. Tracks 9 and 10 appeared to be duplicate courses. Main Menu had level 8 and level 7 medals swapped. When I got the midair trick upgrade it became basically unplayable with WASD suddenly rotating the car midair, which happens all the time. Otherwise, audio and graphics were solid.

Thank you for playing and for the feedback, EvilGreven! I agree - track orientation and controls need a rework, especially the WASD midair control, which can be frustrating at times. But I’m happy that you still had fun and that the game as a concept seems to work! 😊

Playability:
Fun racing time-attack game. Really plays well even if the car feels a bit floaty at times. Nice work.

Theme:
Didn't feel the theme on this much as there is no real tie-in to gameplay here.

Cleverness:
Cool to see a racing game and especially a speed running precision one. This is kind of a rarer genre with only a few games I can think of serving that audience. Nice job with implementation of fail-fast methodology here as well.

Artistic Style:
Consistent and simple 3d models. Everything is very readable and looks clean.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! It’s interesting that you pointed out it’s a rarer genre, because I think speedrunning games work quite well for streamers in terms of replayability.

Really fun game! Controls really well and the presentation fits awesomely, sometimes it was a little unclear where to go next (like, noticing it in an instant), but that's part of learning a track.
On level 3, there is a button under the timer on the right side that when I click it, it kind of destroyed the game. (timer stops, going over the finish doesnt count, when resetting the countdown timer is stuck at 3, so needed to do a hard reset)
Very cool!

Thank you for taking the time and for your encouraging feedback! More player guidance and clearer indications of where the track leads are really good points—they make learning the track much smoother. It also looks like I forgot to remove a test button that stops the timer, haha. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yo that was fun!

The Records panel on the left was clipped out of my screen, in both windowed and fullscreen mode, so I couldn't quite tell what that was for. But generally the music was solid, the controls felt smooth, the camera angles felt great, it was a very slick experience! Loved the main menu.

Developer

Thank you for playing and your kind feedback! How far did you get in the progression? I try to determine if it is worth to develop the game further but maybe a dedicated playtest might be more suited to answer this question. Also I'm happy that you liked the main menu :D

I played to like level 5 or 6. Game felt best going full speed on the long banking turns. Going inverted and transitioning to some of the 90degree walls the controls and camera started being noticable. The chicanes with lack of breaks were cruel lol

Hey, thank you for testing up to level 6! I agree with you - the controls and camera movement need more adjustment and fine-tuning. Also, the brakes aren’t very responsive. Thanks for pointing that out! After reading the comments I think the progression could be a bit faster, since most of the shortcuts can only be used with a fully upgraded car after reaching gold on all 10 tracks (and shortcutting is the USP of the game).

Yeah you could definitely benefit from a dedicated playtest with a video / microphone recording from an external playtester, at least once a week for a bit while you work on improvements. I've never found that to be a bad thing. I'm really bad at racing games so didn't get super far (not your ideal playtester) 😅
