The art, and music are really good and I love the gameplay mechanic! It's actually real fun
It's hard to know the hitbox though especially when going through the narrow tunnels. It's almost like one of those rage games. Overall, I find it fun.
woo beat it! I don't think I have much new to add, the visuals and audio are top tier, and despite the hitbox stuff the game is regardless really compelling to me. I liked the flow I got into where I was mostly trying to manage my velocity, keeping it from getting too high so I could maneuver well. The bounce being able to hit walls and not just the floor was a big part of that I liked
I guess two things I can add: first I didn't like the two pairs of 50/50 wells (at least not without a way to climb back up), especially cause they pavlov'd me later when there were 4 vertical wells: I kinda just accepted I was about to die to rng again but thankfully they were all open lol
And second I didn't once actively attack or try to dodge the jailbirds, they all just naturally missed me as I passed by. Which is mostly to say can def see them being further implemented in future post jam work if there is any
Great job!
I really enjoyed this! I loved the ambiance and the spritework, and the game's mechanics were really unique! My only critique is that the collision felt a little unclear? Especially when brushing up against the side of a wall counted as a fail. Top marks!
I LOVED IT!!!!
The music is PRECIOUS, the gameplay is quite ingenious, the graphics are spot on and the theme is just so endearing!
Only caveat I had were the collisions. They are too severe and may feel unfair at times. A lot of times it felt like hitting the floor on time killed me and doing it too early seemed to work even though I felt it shouldn't. Also the side collisions killed me too many times...
It may be on purpose, but if not, it helps to let the "feeling" get preiority over precision (I don't doubt that the collisions were "just"). This is a lesson that I learnt from Canabalt many years ago, allowing the player a little bit of extra room to fail.
I got stuck on the bifurcation for a long time and after getting past it and dying to something stupid I decided to just play ONE more time as long as I cleared the bifurcation again.
I did and then... and then I got to the end and was so happy! I'm glad that I persevered!!
Awesome game ^__^
