Really liked the uniqueness of the idea. I got stuck in a corner and couldn't maneuver on the enemy and died, but otherwise it was going well. The tutorial is good, and was needed.

this might be my favorite game in the jam so far
The best comment I can hope to get for my entry, thank you!
This one is so fun. It has the "just one more level" morishness that really hooks me. I don't know that the rogue dungeon part of it is doing it too many favors, but the puzzle part of it is SOOO good. I could see this being in a sort of slay the spire ish run system. You'd fight in different arenas that force more interesting movement from the player. There could be resting spots where the player is allowed to move a couple of their pieces around and shops where you buy new pieces and stuff. So many ways it could go!
All of that is to say that I really enjoyed the game. Probably my favorite of the Jam and competition is tough.
Thanks for playing my game and I am glad you had fun with it. I also think gameplay that leans more into the "puzzle part" could make more sense here, but some ideas only come up in your head when you think about them in a specific jam context. I feel flattered from your last sentenced! Thanks again!
Really cool idea :)
I think a smoother camera could really add to this!
Thanks! Yes, I agree. After some time I do not recognize it anymore, but it would add some polish.
From the name I thought it was a meme entry, but surprisingly it's a very cool concept! It even does diegetic UI in a way I tried sometimes but failed miserably. A cool puzzle game on top of it all! And with the random effects, it adds a lot. A bit of music and you have a perfect jam entry!
Thanks for giving my game a chance despite the silly name. The UI can get quite messy, but it I like how it turned out. Music is always my weakest point.
Yeah, I'm no musician either lol. I look for music I think would fit the game, but I don't actually know know if it's the best choice... Should team up with a composer once for a change
I think this is one of the most innovative games coming out of the jam. The concept is excellent and uses the grid-based presentation to create something a little more strategic. Finding ways to cut enemies off creates interesting configurations with your own aura, making you think about the space of the maze itself to align properly. Strangely enough, this feels like it could work well with less procedural generation - thinking about puzzles that use more complex twists and turns in the map could create a sort of reverse Sokoban situation. There's a lot of potential here. Nice to see someone code in the Love2D framework too!
Thanks for playing and giving such a kind review. You are right. A more predictable puzzle progression and maybe even a more predictable enemy movement could make more sense for this kind of game. love2d is great! We have to keep the spirit of code only frameworks alive.
I love the twist! The aura mechanic is great for the fights, makes it more of a puzzle which honestly I found very fun to play
Thanks for the kind words. That was exactly what I was going for.
This is a genuinely good concept for a game. The mechanics feel a bit unintuitive at the start, but there is a very helpful tutorial to help the player along. Could use a bit more sound, though.
I think this will be a really fun game once it gets more polish.
I like it. 3.5/5
Thanks for the feedback. I totally agree, sound is probably the weakest part.
A little hard to figure out, but it had a great feel. Can't wait to see it evolve.
Thanks! The tutorial was probably a must this time.
