Goblin in the barrel cuz forgot sunscreen at home
Lol I loved this! Swapping back and forth between your two modes was so natural and simple but really made traversal compelling. Awesome =)
I like the idea between switching from speed to precision on a dime, and it was used well here! I'd be curious to see where you go with this. Good stuff!
Thank you so much, that is exactly what we were going for!
Keep a lookout, because we will be posting updates after the jam is over 🤞
i like his little shimmy :) There were some weird parallax visuals on the web player but i could see some cool mechanics switching between barrel mode and walk mode
Thank you so much for playing, and my counter-part made all the art of which that shimmy is definitely my favorite so far! You also nailed it on the direction we were trying to go.
BUT yeah, there were indeed some fun bugs that made it in like the lack of rotation snapping when switching going over the goal post. I am currently working on ironing out those bugs, but I am waiting for the jam to be officially over to post some updates
I love goblins!!!
If you liked this goblin, then be sure to check out the other in the jam (there are a surprising number of them, hahaha) some of them even commented on this game!
Very cozy vacation vibes with the music and visuals. Gameplay felt really smooth, and easy to get into (with a few challenges on the way). Nice work! :)
Our main focus was to get the gameplay as smooth (and slick) as possible, and I am so glad that came through. Thank you so much for playing!
The physics based rolling mechanics is fun and smooth! Its also crazy cause the goblins in my game stand in barrels too! crazy coincidence.
Thank you so much for playing! Those rolling mechanics where one of the key features I worked hard to make feel good.
Hell yeah, that IS a crazy coincidence (and good taste 😏)!
the music is soothing and the vibe is cute!
cute music, cute theme! love the goofy lil goblin
The music/sound is chill and the environmental objects look nice! I had to restart the first attempt because I went into "barrel mode" and couldn't move or get out, but had no further issues after that. Well done!
Thank you so much for playing!
Fun concept - I can see a lot of potential in future levels where the player would have to transform mid movement which could make for some really cool gameplay mechanics. Really enjoyed the overall lighthearted feel of the game
Thank you! You hit it right on the nose. That was (and still is) the plan
I gigled when I saw the Goblin switch pose to start rolling
Me 2 (t’was the last animation before time ran out 😅
awesome concept and great art, would love to see a full version of this with more levels! Love me some goblins!
Thank you! We had 4 more levels planned, but that was way too ambitious for the time frame. We do plan to keep updating it, so stay on the lookout!
Good to see more goblin representation!
Fun platformer, the barrel movement felt good, like a sonic game somewhat.
I also liked the background pixel art :)
Thank you for contribution to goblin cause, too!
Thank you! Our test level for the longest time was just OG Sonic’s Green Hill
Um... I think your titlescreen might be bugged, I keep spam clicking start and it doesn't work. Did you happen to disconnect some signal related to the buttons? Btw, I downloaded the windows .zip file, maybe the web version works ok?
Yeah I am sorry we are working though fixing the executable bugs. Please try again soon 🤞
Oh that's good, cause clicking start on the web version just causes a black screen. Tried changing browser a couple times (brave -> chrome) didn't fix it.
The issue is now fixed! I was using the
FileLoaderinstead of theResourceLoaderfor dynamic sprite creation… which of course doesn’t work when it is not looking at a file system with pngs 🙃 BUT it is all good now
