How does your game represent "Slick"?
We're fans of card games and we wanted to make "slick" card combos that would feel smoothly executed

Dude, this game is insane. The OST is amazing and the presentation is so cool. I wish I understood wtf was happening because I would think this would be an amazing and deep card game. This would pop off so hard if it had a tutorial somewhere (please im begging you i want to learn this it looks so cool)
I highly reccomend you put a mini-tutorial in the description of your itch.io game page, as of right now it’s entirely unclear how any aspect of the game works and for a game with experiemental mechanics it hurts the gameplay experience quite a bit. I love card games so I want to enjoy this game, but right now it just feels like pressing buttons.
Appreciate the feedback, we did try to throw in a tutorial near the end but it probably would help if we had better card descriptions
I never quite got the hang of it to a degree where i understood exactly how a turn would play out, but it's simply gorgeous. Phenomenal effort!
We appreciate it! We enjoy card roguelites and were trying to figure out how to make some busted combos. We want to iterate in the future to play with more status effects and the card stealing mechanic.
Can't say I could understand how to play but this is clearly well made, visuals and feedback are awesome!
It turns out it's hard to do that :) we went through a few different design cycles and ended with the yin/yang dynamic but we ran out of time trying to figure out the benefit/downside of going too far one way or the other. We're probably going to iterate on the cards a bit more, we appreciate the feedback!
really nice art and music
Thank you! I should clarify the music isn't ours (it is Creative Commons Licensed), if you want to listen the tracks more, here are links to the menu music and the battle music. I DJ on the side and ngl I might use that battle music in a set sometime.
Gorgeous artwork
Thanks! That was entirely my co-creator, he was going crazy trying to make pixel art. The announcer and enemy 1 in particular were chugged out on the last day
the narrative really rode home the whole abstract philosophy. The choices provided also have the unique naming conventions! And as for the cards gameplay? Ig3ot only one word for it: "SLICK."
Do make sure to play and rate our game as well (it might take a minute for it to load)
Hey ya'll! We just pushed one last update that addressed a soft-lock in the game, Windows v3 and OSX v6 should be fine. Sorry!
