How does your game represent "Slick"?
Cycle Shifter is a post-post-dystopian adventure game set several centuries into the future, where a newbie hacker tries to make a living looting ancient facilities. The game has its slick moments - for example, the main character can hack systems using their Terminal, and they can also "hack" systems using their Crowbar.

This is a super creative puzzle game that made progression require a lot more strategy than typical top-down adventure games! I had fun trying to balance my credits and gadget powers to navigate through the lab as cost-effectively as possible! Of course, the art, music, and writing were also fantastic!
I did get soft-locked on my first playthrough when I ran out of credits and power for all my gadgets. However, I was able to beat the game on my second attempt with a final score of 490. lol
Overall, great job! :)
Thank you for playing, and congrats on your score! I'm actually not sure what the maximum possible score is, but 490 is pretty high regardless! 👏 👏 👏 👏
The character art and spritework look really good! The music is pretty cool, the story seems pretty complex, even with just the surface level view of it from this jam version of the game! Looks like a solid base for a larger game project!
I might have solved the box sliding puzzle but I did not solve the mystery of what the pink arrows meant or did on the floor of that room, haha.
The arrows are supposed to give you a hint on how to move the boxes, but it seems they actually make most players confused instead lol. Thank you for playing!
Absolutely! I think the biggest issue with the arrows was pushing a box in the bottom row to the left, it actually stopped on an arrow. I think it might have been the hitbox of the room's lockdown barrier, but it was one of the first pushes I tried so I thought the arrows stopped the boxes. :P
I figured it out eventually though!
Love the art, music and dialogue, game has great vibes
very well job on everything!
Joke aside, slick concept with cool art and cutscenes, I like the puzzle aspect a lot!
Character designs were great and the UI was super polished and slick. Nice job!
Very nicely done story and the audio complements well. I really liked the dialogues and interactions that were available!
i love the navigation puzzles you come up with! just a shame we didn't have more of it. 😩
The visuals and all of the UI work really well together. The music is great too.
Well done with the visuals and the slick hacker-feel! The movement felt a bit floaty to me personally, but it was cool to see a puzzle game submission.
One of the most polished games I've played on this gamejam. Really fun puzzles and finding the gadgets feels very satisfying. Also, got really immersed in the story. Great job! :D
Cool game! I think I got stuck and had no way of getting enough DP to advance. Maybe that's the intention though? Like, maybe you're meant to be able to have a dead run?
Well done though!
Great concept with surprising depth! Its rare that hacking systems actually make the player feel smart, but this manages to pull it off well. This feels more like a full demo than a jam game, in a good way.
I wasn't expecting a puzzle game, so I went in very unprepared. It's a cool project though! I always like seeing people use RPG Maker in unique ways.
I really loved the character designs and personalities, the whole game felt very polished and slick :D
Hold on, let me put on my
Very polished, love the art. I would say adding a little timing event or something on the hacks, something akin to the gears of war reload mechanic, where if you time it right it costs less data points to hack? idk just an idea. But yeah super clean and complete feeling game. Great job!
Really liked the overall aesthetic and the detailed dialogue frames were fantastic. Nice work!
the aesthetic and visuals of this are incredible v well done! especially with the cutscenes and dialogue, this feels fully fleshed out! some kind of mini game or added interactivity/mechanic would have made the hacking feel extra slick.
A minigame every time you hack would get old pretty quickly, but a gadget or a mechanic that triggers it could be interesting 👀
the visuals and story of this game is sliiick, very cool. and the gameplay is quite interesting.
