This was REALLY well put together! I enjoyed it a lot! The art you’ve done is REALLY cool in the time allotted. Such great work!

How does your game represent "Slick"?
Slippery floors, greasy badguys, and funky jams!

love the personality that went into this one. i got SSSSAS at the end which was pretty hype :3
the effects on the water and the cartoony style was awesome. great work by the team, i await what's next!
Nice art and sounds. I'd make that treadmill move the player too. Oh and the water looks really good.
Those greasers are pretty slick. This is a great idea and well implemented!
i tried shouting out this game on a stream but i said "slick finish" instead of "slick shine" oh nooooooo. i have failed you, my carwash bretheren.
the character designs are awesome! but I must confess... I am terrible at this game xD

Cool game! I appreciate how easy this one was to pick up with minimal tutorialisation. The animations were also super impressive for a jam entry.
Loved the art and unique take on the genre. The water effect is so slick and satisfying. Nice job! :)
The water effect is amazing! And the overall art style is really charming and detailed! Great art direction and the individual sprites are incredible, although I felt the underlying tile pattern was a bit distracting from the rest of the atristry. Would love to see if you guys continue how you could add a bit more depth to the gameplay, but this was an awesome entry!

I like how the 1950s is captured here, and the music is pretty fitting, as well. I noticed how most of the difficulty comes from managing the crowds of enemies and keeping them away from the cars, rather than necessarily defeating every enemy on screen. This adds a lot more strategy to defending the cars as they go along the conveyor belt, and I had fun pushing away the enemies.
This game has a very impressive and unique artstyle. I liked the voice lines for the grades at the end. I found it pretty hard, I think it would be cool if there was a way to restore health to the cars by cleaning them.F-B-C-S-D-F
I got a duh duh duh DEEEEEE xD very fun, with some extra polish this could even become a sort of roguelike game
I really like this idea, and the art for this entry is very cool. I think it was a clever take on a tower defence-style concept, and reminded me a bit of Plants vs Zombies for some reason. Either way I enjoyed it quite a bit and thought it was very creative. It did seem very difficult to get a good rating as soon as the medium range enemies pop up, not sure if I was doing something wrong but the enemies seem quite hard to kill and keeping them at distance let’s them pool up. Would be interested to see how the balance could be improved, or the correct strategy made clearer if I’m missing something. Great job!
Thank you Seb. This is sort of a learning experience for me as to how folks view tower defense or "defend the cart" games. Most people seem to think that you should be able to clear the level with perfect scores. I kinda thought of it as getting a perfect score should be kinda impossible, but theoritically possible with the "perfect playthrough". TBH the team wasn't very decisive about what type of game this would be, we just kinda started with "there should be greasers attacking your car wash and you have to fight them".... If I had to develop it further myself (personally) I would do away with scores and bring $$ into the picture for having cleared cars through, kinda like the car owners are paying you as the car wash, then be able to purchase upgrades + different weapons + helper NPC's etc etc.
I agree that perfect should be pretty hard to get, that makes sense and has some challenge, but I was struggling a bit just to get Ds and Cs - that may be more of a reflection on me though rather than the balance! I think some sort of reward and upgrade system would make sense, especially with the car wash theme, and would also make things a bit more varied. Still a great job though!
I learned a lot about myself too, I'm a bit too much of a perfectionist for game jams haha. (Lead programmer here). I should have allowed a bit more time for upgrades, instead of focusing on precise enemy movements for instance... To be fair though, this is the first game I've ever built, and I'm very proud of myself and the entire team for putting this together.
This is too cute and really fun! I love the visuals and I could definitely keep playing this.
