Cute game! Creating a slide puzzle was a nice use of the theme.  The mechanics felt pretty good. Nice work!

The art style reminds of these browser games I used to play as a kid. Really cool idea and puzzles, but funny enough I think there is another game with the same exact mechanic in this game jam xD Still, really nice job! :)

The puzzle and level designs are very nicely done! I really liked the progression of introducing different obstacles and interactions. One thing though was when I first encountered the wood door thingies where you need to click wasd to go through, the button icon flashed so quickly I had no idea what it said and got stuck for a little while.

The puzzle design in this was pretty slick. At first I really liked the sound of the penguin hitting the green blocks, then penguin flying through above the obstacles, and then under them! The progression felt very fun and made me always more curious as to what puzzle or mechanic will appear in the next room. I also loved the little rooms full of coins with arrows guiding you to collect them all. Same with the big rooms where you need to walk up for some time, it built some suspense. Great job with this!

not gonna lie, you were pretty slick for this one

This was a very fun puzzle game. I really enjoyed getting unstuck on a stage once I’ve figured out how to use a mechanic. Stopped because of a minor bug where I got stuck on a block.

This is great! I love how much thought was put into all the rooms and mechanics. Great to see another metroidvania in the jam

Cute little game! The mechanics are very interesting, and add a lot to the sliding puzzles! It seems like everything was locked onto a tile grid, which made movement kinda glitchy and uncooperative at times. If there was a map I probably would have tried to get all the coins. I really liked the powerups, I was curious at first how this was going to be a "metroidvania", but it really was

As a fan of the Game Boy, The Legend of Zelda series, and Metroidvania games, I had a blast with Little Blue! The stellar pixel art, music, level design, and progression methods were all ingenious! Fantastic job! :D

Wow it was really interesting playing your game having built something similar! I’d love to pick your brain on how you designed some of your levels. Great entry! Penguin games unite!

super fun, reminds me of some of the puzzles from the gba pokemon games.

Fantastic game! Finished with 42 coins. The level design was awesome, I didn't get bored. And the vibes were good. Well done with the sound effects.

Nice level design, and I really enjoyed the upgrades! I wish the movement was faster, especially ground walking. Also really cute penguin and pixel art though!

Pretty neat concept! Love the level design!!

Very nicely done, at first I thought, well this has been done to death before, but no, play a bit longer and your realize you actually got something pretty unique here. The traditional well known ice slide puzzle thing, combined with the metroidvaina world exploration, unlocking different abilities (which are really well thought out), kept me playing for much longer than I thought I would. It's the first time in a while that a puzzle game kept me engaged as much as little blue did. Well done, I really liked this one

Yes that's exactly what I was hoping players would take away! Thanks so much for playing!

I love the world design here, it's very clear that you put a lot of work into this, and you did a great job.

Thank you for the kind words!

I love this sort of puzzle. The timing elements were surprising but they worked well together, especially when you get the spacebar ability near the end. I'm impressed with the amount of game in here! I think some sort of map might be nice but I was able to straight shot to the end without getting lost, so maybe it's not necessary. I missed some side rooms (finished with 86 coins) but this was well made. Reminds me of puzzlescript games.

I do wish the sounds were mixed better (spike death too loud, music a bit too quiet, ice slide panned to the left) but that's not a huge deal for a jam game of course

Thank you so much for playing! Yeah sounds were last minute.
