How does your game represent "Slick"?
You can slide around in water or oil. There is also a character called Koopa da slick and he is very rad.

What a lovely way to end stream this was equal parts fun, relaxing, chaotic and cute! I loved the characters , art and there were some super cool mechanics too not to mention some banging music! Great work guys :)

an elephant neva forgets.
great work!
very happy to see a collectathon in the jam. Love Oliver and his movement. the Trunk mechanics were clever.
5/5/5/5!
please check out Slick-Start if U have the chance!
I can see, why people love Olivier. An elephant, that does flips, can slide on his belly and look really cute at the same time? He's got everything!
The game itself looks soooo polished and the artstyle really fits
What I liked the most about it is the soundtrack
I have nothing but praise to give, very well done!
This is definitely the cutest game I played in the jam. The music with elephant sounds is so lovely and immersive, as well. I had trouble figuring out what to do, but I'm generally very bad at 3-d games..
This was a very fun, chill platformer game. I loved the vibes, and its an ambitious undertaking to try to make a sandbox platformer for a game jam. I do wish some platforming sections were a bit more forgiving and the sliding mechanic was more explained, but once I figured it out I had a lot more fun. Great game!
Cute main character, nice shader used when zooming into Olivier, unfortunately Duck didn't do the same haha.
I love the jump front-flip Olivier does.
Also is that a fart Olivier does to do her double jump? :O
I was not prepared for the psycho crab.
You may want to add a breath timer underwater or collision boxes so people don't just go under and walk off forever.
It wasn't obvious that I need to use the oil slide with the fire torch to drag the fire to the cage to break it but got there eventually.
There are some bits of the buildings where you can see they didn't quite line up and there are open faces but that's to be expected in a 9 day jam.
Being able to hold shift underwater to permanently speed boost made it smarter to just stay under water to boost around the island.
Navigating the rooves was kind of janky with the constant up down of the camera because of the corrugated roof, it almost caught me off guard several times needing to do a cheeky coyote timed jump.
When trying to make a fiery oil train to get the cage on the opposite side of the island from the spawn it teleports me to the left and ruins my fiery oil trail.
It was good that I didn't have to do everything in order to get the $100 to pay the duck at the start.
Other than that I guess the final end state is gathering all cash to be had on the island?
Overall fun and cute little 3D platformer with some jank obviously because of the extreme time limit of the jam, would love to see where this goes in the future!
Hey thanks for the comment and the funny screenshots.
There is no final end state or any ending actually, you just pay off the duck and are now allowed to stay on the island. You win congrats.
I should have added some sort of thank you for playing message or end screen.
In that sense, Thanks for playing :D
This made me feel like I did discovering a game as a kid again. Lots of zany characters to find, secrets all over the place and just a world that is so fun to explore! Really loved this, and I am astounded at just how much content you were able to put in such a short time. Great concept and such a feel good game!
Glad you enjoyed your time. I am really happy with how the characters turned out with the unhinged usage of emojis and silly voice snippets from my friends.
Thank you for playing :D
Super duper fun, loved exploring and the little fire puzzles. Vibes of Treasure Trove Cover (Banjo Kazooie). Might have enjoyed a little bit denser of a world so there’s less travel time, but the movement was fun enough to keep me occupied regardless !
Yeah it is kinda like those N64 collectathons.
Glad you enjoyed the movement also. Thanks for playing :D
Make me want to hear elephant's vaporwave all day. I got a very good chill time on Duck islands, and funny platforms mechanics. Thank you !
Elephant wave is the best genre.
Thanks for playing :D
Cute elephant game with tons of polish! Love it <3
Thx <3
wondeful little sandbox elephant game with immaculate vibes and some occasional puzzle and platform execution challenges ✨ all in all, happy to get star momma her little babies and maybe one extra 🐘
You can keep the extra child if you want. Otherwise just toss it into the sea.
NO MIKE NOOOOOOOO
well actually it's a starfish so it's probably fine
Cute little game with a nice little map to explore! Scratches that little collectathon itch!
Main character is very cute, music is fun with the little elephant trumpeting in it, very on point! I think the controls for talking to people especially when you have multiple dialogue options is a little inconsistent, but it wasn't something you had to do too much.
Made all sorts of cash, basically own the island now.
I think there is a total of one dialog option in the entire game lmao. I used an addon called dialogic for the dialog and just ran with the default settings because I am lazy. So yeah, I will forward your criticism to the dialogic team and make sure to shoot emilio personally with a gun. /s
But jokes aside I saw that a lot of people were a little bit confused by the UX in general and that is something that I should have invested a bit more time in.
Thanks for playing :D
This is a polished experience. The animations and sound design are impressive. I enjoyed sliding around, especially the turtle's race.
The thing that detracted for me was a lack of objective. I didn't really feel like there was a point to me exploring or collecting. I wanted more direction.
Fair enough. I actually wanted this to be a speedrunning game early on but changed my mind later. There should have probably been a grander quest line as the main objective but I barely finished this as is lmao.
Thank you for playing :D
Arson gameplay or a duck song reference were definately not on my game jam bingo card this year. The game has fun controls and delightful visuals. I also like how the "lofi elefunk" changes underwater. Fantastic work on the game!
Arson and duck song in the same game even.
Thanks for playing <3
Incredible work! There is a ton of polish, and the attention to detail really shows (like the underwater camera sound filter). I spent a ton of time just looking at the environment and enjoying being an elephant <3
Glad you enjoyed the vibes. Thanks for playing <3
Really cute graphics and animations. The oil and fire mechanic was interesting but I couldn't really make use of it :D Well done though!
Aside from the joy of committing arson there are some wooden cages that require fire to be opened up but you don't need them to get to 100$
Thanks for playing :D
Couldn't burn the village, the lemonade stand, or the duck, but sure as hecc managed to burn down my framerate
10/10
I deeply apologize for dis -empowering your destructive desires. May chaos take the world.
funny dialogue, great character design, and slick movement. The map could stand to be a bit more full so you don't have to walk as far to get to the next thing though. Love the crab holding a knife like a mugger instead of just using his hands, which are effectively already knives
Totally see that. I had pretty much only two days to work on this so the content is a little light.
Thanks for playing tho :D
I like the lo fi elephant music. I think some more guidance would've been better. I kind of wandered around for a while
I mean yea that's sort of all the game is. Just moving around and collecting stuff. Thanks for playing :D
