How does your game represent "Slick"?
You feel slick AF making your guy do cool moves to reach the goal. You make moves in slow motion but the game plays back your run in realtime

Very Slick! I liked "no settings lol", and is the dance from Trololo? One piece of feedback I'd give, it might be nice if the slowmo didn't kick in quite so fast after playing a card. Specifically the Walk or Sprint felt like I'd have to sit there in slowmo for a very long time to actually get any distance out of the action. Maybe only go slow once the player starts interacting with a card, so they can control how long their speed/momentum lasts? Regardless, I had fun, and enjoyed the kids_cheering.mp3 as my reward for making it to the finish!
Ayy nice job beating it! It took me quite a few tries myself ๐ .
I 100% agree with your feedback about the slowmo kicking in too early. I set it to be pretty conservative to start and was going to adjust it after some testing, but I forgot to do both the adjusting part and the testing lmfao. It happens though, glad you enjoyed it regardless! ๐
I'm not sure about Trololo, but all the animations (as well as the model) was provided by this amazing CC0 animation library. I highly recommend it, its very high quality and was super easy to work with.
Thanks again for playing!
I can earnestly say I have never played anything quite like this and I think it is phenomenally creative. My only real gripe is the pure reliance on RNG. I felt like I had very little autonomy beyond burning through "dance" cards until I could score a "weeeeee!"
Ayy thanks for your kind words ๐. Yeah the RNG can get pretty annoying, the original vision was to have a deck of cards you can build and choose strategically but we didn't have time for that. We appreciate your feedback though!
Insanely innovative idea, I love the idea of a deckbuilder colliding with other genres like in this case a platformer. I think there's definitely room for it to becomes something - the problem I had with it was that jump always seemed like the best card, so it ended up being cycling the cards until jump or ninja jump came up. Still, really cool to see such an innovative idea
Thank you so much! We were mainly inspired by YOMI Hustle, and the cards were inspired by the idea of deck building in Slay the Spire. We wanted to explore the idea of adding more cards in between levels but we didn't have time to fully explore it.
We wanted to have a point system so the worse cards would give you more points, but again, time restrictions ๐ .
I'm glad you enjoyed the concept though! Maybe we will explore it more in the future!
So I DID die every time, and sometimes it was because i was so high in the air i couldn't see the ground and sometimes it was because I thought 'bust it down' would stop me before I slid off the edge. Overall, a fun game and the music was nice and vibesy!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you had fun! I could have made the dance stop you at a ledge but honestly I just made it do nothing because I thought it would be funny ๐. That is a great suggestion though we will do that next time for sure!
Nice! Very smooth animations and movement. We had a similar idea :D
I tried your game out too and it was great, I think you guys did an amazing job :D
Brah, we literally had the same idea, we just took different direction to execute it. Pretty slick if you ask me! Loved it. Edit: The settings made my morning
Yoooo that's awesome! Great minds think alike.
Now THATS a death animation!
Only the best highest quality effects are good enough for this jam ๐๐ฏ
Very nice!!! Quite slick... satisfying game play.
Thank you!!! Glad you had fun ๐
