Yes!

Summarize your game!
This is a game about trying to get groceries despite having social anxiety. Grocery is a stealth game in which the player needs to navigate a shop while avoiding being seen too many times or looking at too many people.

The game also features a level editor, which was used to create the main levels for the game and can be used to create and share custom levels.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
When I read the theme, "The World is Watching", it reminded me of my experience with social anxiety, and how it felt having to navigate everyday tasks when it felt like everyone, everywhere was watching and judging me. I remember having to take circuitous routes in the grocery store because there were two people already on the isle and I couldn't summon the courage to walk past them.

I took those memories and those feelings, and channeled them into this game.

Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
In a technical sense, I took this jam as an opportunity to see how many features and small touches I could fit into a two week window.

Playability:
Easy to understand and play through. Bit odd using IJKL for aiming the character when other characters can do degree based directionality. Maybe try a Twin-Stick approach? Either way this is fun and interesting.

Theme:
Fits the theme directly and ties it into gameplay quite well. Using Social Anxiety as a mechanic is fantastic and was well executed.

Cleverness:
Gamifying social anxiety in this way is very clever overall. You can really push this a lot farther and I'm interested in seeing what you do going forward.

Artistic Style:
Simple, consistent, and most importantly readable. The game doesn't struggle anywhere in this regard.

A cool spin on stealth games. Does the IJKL look direction matters?  doesn't seem to make a difference.

Thanks! And thank you for playing!

If the player sees someone, the player will lose points, and if the player is seen the player also loses points. So if you don't avoid looking at people you can also lose that way. It turned out that it's not very hard to avoid looking at people, though, so I think I'd replace it with a different mechanic if I go further with this project.

I like the game, the background audio recording is cool. The eyes are really ominous.

Really interesting game. I love the atmosphere, may I suggest adding some random vocal lines every now and again that give a "What if they're talking about me?" feel. For an extra challenge, and to utilise your look mechanic more, may I suggest needing to look at what you need to pick up in order to do so? Or perhaps needing to look to see where people are before you get too close. At the moment it feels as though I'm just avoiding eye contact and can see everywhere regardless of which direction I'm facing. Overall you've nailed the feel of what you're going for, and the game over animation is very good - made me feel uneasy!

it's so funny, I had this exact idea early on. After playing, main things I'd suggest is more feedback to the player for when the other people see you, it's not clear what makes you fail. I did fail 1 level one time but I have no idea why exactly.
