This was fun! I loved speed boosting into the other racers. The shredder kept getting me (RIP) and I definitely noticed the difference in friction between the track and the other terrain. The music, audio, and visuals are great. Nice work!
Really awesome experience! Wish there was something to tell me how close the crushing bus was behind me and how fast it was moving. Wasn't a fan of the how quick momentum gets stopped the second you hit it. You can avoid the crushing truck, which at times is confusing. It would be cool if the overall level had hard walls like the tutorial did instead of sand. That said. Really fun and really immersive experience. Great visuals and sounds!
Loved the environment and car designs! The art overall worked perfectly together with the music and the mechanics! It was funny watching the smaller cars throw themselves in my way when I slowed down just so I could blow them up, great work!
Grr I could only get to the final lap, cool game I loved everything audio wise (music was awesome) besides the audio bug which you mentioned in the description. Everything feels great but bit a little squirrely side because you're not locked into turns, it's like the car's are feather lite which I I guess makes sense with the slick theme. I do feel there's a little bit of conflicting design with trying to go fast or trying to hit all the wildly moving racers and it does seem like you can cheese it though by going off map when the tractor gets close to avoid getting hit
Whatever shaders used to make this pixelated look was absolutely amazing and worth the time for sure. Speeding up to what looks like a 5 pixels and slowly seeing the actual shape of the vehicles were so cool. The music was spectacular as well.
I laughed when I tried to backtrack around the killdozer when it was coming up behind me. Seeing it quickly take a 180 to kill me was hilarious. Having it right on your tail was an experience too when trying to quickly escape.
One think I noticed is that sometimes the player seems to be what is stationary and the world is the thing that is actually moving. I did not notice the wheels move which could be what was causing me to think that, but that is just a small nitpick in a incredible production.
Badass!!! Thanks for making this
Oh yeah, played it until my ears rang. Bad idea, but it was fun and that's what matters I think.
holy, the damn sick voicelines and absolute metal head bop made this so intense! Felt like Mick Gordon made some songs specifically for this!! fantastic game!
Insanely Badass Game! The Soundtrack goes super hard and destroying the other cars feels so cool.
The canyon setting looks so nice! Very high adrenaline game.
i love the presentation! the soundtrack is awesome and i'm usually pretty picky about that. the rocky environments look great, and the gameplay is solid.
hopefully you won't mind some constructive feedback! the fact that i can hold drift to recharge without turning feels like an exploit. i tried to play without it, but it still felt too easy to just zigzag drift to get your boost back. it would be cool to see the game rebalanced around Parking Garage Rally Circuit-style drifting where you are locked into the turn and you just decide whether it's a tight or wide turn, forcing players to actually use the mechanic as intended, for turning.
the tutorial says kill enemies or else. i guess this is because not killing enemies speeds up the bulldozer? if that's true, there should be better feedback so i can actually tell there's a connection. this is a great mechanic on paper since it makes players balance between going fast and killing enemies. the issue is that you can just go off the side of the track to escape the bulldozer, and it seems balanced so that this is basically a requirement on lap 3 (either that or skill issue on my part). i think it would be cool if the bulldozer were inescapable, that way the game actually ends up getting played in the way that's the most fun.
it's an impressive jam entry, great job!
Thank you for your kind words and acute feedback! I'm also over the moon about the music. The team is discussing the idea of turning this into a full release, I hope we can iron out the kinks.
The game is definitely fun, listening to the developers and why they made certain decisions was even more fun, keep it up!
Music goes hard, and I love the bulldozer.
Epic. I love destroying the other cars.
I love the graphics and the style of the game. The art and music really sell the whole thing. Crashing into other cars was also satisfying, but I didn't really get why I needed to crash other cars until I read someone else's comment lol.
Super cool car designs! Very fun ramming other cars too!
Love the Artsyle, and it controls great.
Loved all the CARNAGE and the small delay whenever you destroy a vehicle for extra satisfying goodness! The big vehicle was spooking me out especially in 2nd and 3rd laps. Very fun
I liked the Guilty Gear-esque announcer. I got a good laugh when the big car chasing me passed me and then zoomed way forward around the track to get behind me again. Fun game
Really responsive movement. When I first tried this it felt really good but I was a bit confused about how the one hit kill mechanic works. I figured out eventually that you need to constantly crash other cars but figuring it out was a bit frustrating. Especially because you cannot tell how you are doing and the first few times I just suddenly died without knowing why.
I feel like I would have preferred if there was some sort of meter that showed how close you are to your death.
Happy to hear that the game pleased you ! The danger o'meter was indeed supposed to be there but we ran out of time. Thanks for your feedback !
