I'm never going to work retail again.
The poltergeist is a dick. Only critique is that the physics were kind of crazy so if things went flying I wasn't sure if it was because I accidentally tapped the box or Peeves was bullying minimum wage workers.
This is the exact opposite of my game and I love it. The first time my box of stuff exploded in my face as soon as I lifted it, I couldn't help but laugh. Fun idea and super vibey little scene.
(I suggest everyone go play my game to recover from having played this ↓ )
I haven't laughed this hard in weeks. 10/10 rating
They say a picture is worth a thousand words:
10/10
Wow, I hated this. Thanks!
Btw I'm not sure if this is a 'me' problem, but my mouse wouldnt track correctly when itch took control of my pointer. It kept aiming straight up with no way to look normally. I was able to play by pressing esc to have the cursor appear, but then the cursor didnt stay in the middle and was confined to the boundaries of my screen. As it was super inconvenient, I kinda assumed that was part of the experience lmao but did this happen for anyone else? I noticed something similar with another game here.
I’m glad >:)
I’m also glad that I can disguise any bug as a feature hehehe.
On that bug you encountered: I didn’t get to test the web version when I uploaded it, but if you hit escape twice, it brings up the pause menu where you can press the resume button for the mouse cursor to disappear and work properly.
When testing it post-submission, it looks like the first esc press isn’t detected by the game running, which causes that issue.
freaking hate this game and its physics. 10/10 rating :)
reminds me of supermarket sim but the game hates you :D
Reminds me of Voices of the Void! Went out of its way to completely sabotage my attempt and gave me a negative score D: 10/10
>:D
Voices of the Void was not something I thought about while making this. Though now that you mention it, I can see the connections.
The moment that I thought "I could just pick the entire box and bring to the other room, so much more easy" is when I understood how the game fit the theme xD I am not going to lie, I played until 3 AM: I almost shit myself when it was 12 AM and gravity was turned off, and then at 3AM when lights turned off. I did not played until the end to discover if it is an actual horror game or not, but if it is, I liked the idea to combine these two types of games. Good entry!
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Spoilers, for those who want to go in blind.
Though to reassure you, there are no jumpscares or anything like that. I was aiming for a psychological horror with that uneasy, "something's not right" feeling.
