How does your game represent "Slick"?
The game follows the theme (Slick) by focusing on fast, flowy movement (shmoovement), and by featuring a pretty slick lookin' froggie guy.

I like that the frog does a flip when jumping, and I like that the name of the game contains the word "slick".

(For some reason, after dying many times, my fans ran like crazy, and the amount of memory used by the app went up so much that the game crashed.)

Movement was very slick and crisp. The level design was well executed and loved the design of the frog. Nice job! :)

Love the level design and the movement here!

At first I was sad because I couldn't get used to the controls very quick, but then I found out there's a swinging mechanic and it felt really good! It can even be used to exploit the game lol

It's also a pretty neat concept, going around looking for flies, because that's what frogs do, right? :D

What made the game slick for me are the tongue and the constant flips the characters does

I just wish there was a soundtrack or any sound effects at all, but if everyone had all the time in the World, this wouldn't be a jam, right?

So good job!

Thanks for the awesome feedback :) Glad you got the hang of it - the goal is to make the player feel slick when they can chain different kinds of movement together. I thought the flip was necessary for keeping Froggie slick 😎

And yeah, we just ran out of time to add audio (and crouch sliding), but we've already got the new build ready to go live once voting is over!

So fun! Really like the swinging mechanic. Congrats on the entry =)

Really cool game! I the character was very nice and the mechanics all looked quite polished, the environment was also very beautiful. I just wish it was bit longer and it was kind of missing a real ending.

I really like the world built here! It's like a really specific style that reminds me of games from like the Gamecube / PS2 era and I just can't place anything specific right now. It feels like good, carefree times, and the grapping hook matches that feeling.

(Sick Undertow pfp by the way)

tysm 🙏I was really trying to capture that nostalgic/whimsical art style

I love grappling hook games! The frog is cute too.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It was definitely hard to fine tune the grappling in such a short time but we think it feels pretty slick 😎

Pretty neat game, I accidentally discovered a few slick maneuvers while attempting to get that last fly. I'm following, and will check it out again if end up doing that post jam update you mentions.

Short game with great potential. Would've been nice, if the game had some sound effects and more levels. The grappling hook mechanic is fun to use and the environmental storytelling is really cool. Good job!

We plan on updating the game with sounds and additional levels after the jam! As well as adding the crouch slide mechanic too. We had less time than expected so it didn't get as polished as we'd like😅 but it'll definitely get a post-jam update

I like the visual style, but the game is quite short even for a jam. I also felt like the tongue mechanic didn't work how I expected (though looking at the gif in the screenshots, maybe a skill issue)

I also love the froggy model and animations. I love how we went down the same idea route :)

For the speedrunners out there, the best time from my Discord was 11 Seconds. If you can beat that, post a screenshot. Unless you're not good enough 👀

This games models are so crunchy I want to eat them 😎 Also the three bugs left indicator reminded me of my experience of the last hour before submission so thank you for that.

Tysm. I've never been the sole artist on a project before so this was really a test of my skills😅 And ain't no way because your game was so polished it's crazy

I think the visuals here are pretty great and the character's spin on the jump feels pretty slick even if it's just a visual. I had a hard time getting into a flow with the movement, felt like the platforms were maybe too small for my fast movement and the grapple was difficult to use efficiently. There were only a few places where the grapple felt meaningful to use? This kind of grapple mechanic is really hard to get right so I admire anyone who tries this at all.
