Yeah..the visuals are excellent, and you've got a great 3D experience (most make me seasick these days, this didn't). Minor bug where the menu screen doesn't disappear unless I switch between fullscreen/windowed mode. Though, I didn't come across any droids to kill, just people with weird feet and forcefields!
Thank you! Will check the pause menu. There are plenty of droids around, and all are marked in your compass HUD as red. But they avoid you as good as they can... too good, actually. Their AI is flawed. And I have to look into the foot thing; I think the avatar and the animation just don't fit right. Had not the time to fix this in the Jam. I hope next week it gets better.
I really loved the city visuals, they’re sooo cyberpunk. I also liked the sense of speed in the controls, and the droid sounds are very interesting. Once you add music, it’s going to be really cool. I couldn’t run around shooting everywhere, guess there wasn’t time to implement that mechanic, but it definitely made me want to do it.
I'm glad you like the design. Music is planned, I did not have the time to put it into the game during the Jam. I have placed the character in front of a box where you can get one of the weapons so you already can "run around shooting everywhere".
When the rating time is over, the Droid AI will get an overhaul and the players can do what I had planned for in the first place.
I tried again and managed to use a weapon. I had pressed “E” on the starting crate once and it didn’t work, but when I held the button, it worked. I really liked the shooting feel, but it would be nice to better notice that the robots are actually being hit. And I forgot to mention it, but the CRT filter makes everything look really beautiful.
You are right about the droid reactions. As I said, their AI is flawed. Next week it will be better, I hope.
I used the CRT to provide the "retro" look but without it anything becomes sharper so I'm not sure I keep it.
