Which theme(s) did your game incorporate, and how?
PiggyPLAN incorporates the themes of responsibility, financial literacy, and technology through a virtual pig-themed pet that directly links care decisions to in-game money systems and code-driven logic.
The pig serves as a symbolic and functional “piggy bank,” reinforcing the idea of saving, budgeting, and thoughtful spending. Every action—feeding, playing, cleaning, or visiting the vet—has a financial cost or reward, requiring players to manage limited resources. This mirrors real-world money management and emphasizes long-term planning over impulsive choices.
Coding concepts power the entire experience, with variables tracking the pig’s health, mood, age, and balance, while conditional logic determines how the pig grows and reacts over time. By combining a pig-based virtual pet, financial decision-making, and code-driven systems, PiggyPLAN transforms abstract concepts like budgeting and responsibility into an interactive, engaging experience where players learn through cause and effect.

Did you use any pre-made assets? If so, what were they and where were they from?
Yes. PiggyPLAN uses a limited number of pre-made assets to support development efficiency while keeping core systems original. The pig character images and select UI icons were sourced from free, royalty-free asset libraries such as Flaticon and OpenGameArt.
All code, application logic, user interface layout, AI integration, and gameplay systems—including the financial tracking, pet growth logic, and interaction mechanics—were designed and implemented by the PiggyPLAN team. Any pre-made assets used were properly licensed and adapted to fit the visual style and educational goals of the project.

An interesting concept.

Good stuff: Learning to take care of an animal in the long run is a nice strife. The plans seem well thought through. Room for improvement: Sounds would be nice. I felt a little detached from my animal (pig) when it is only a few pixels. It would be great to show it as the main theme somehow (and wether it is doing good or bad). The menu could be more intuitive (had to watch the video to know what to do).

HI! You can actually see the current mood of the pet displayed at the top of the map page! You can also control navigation of the application through the use of the Voice AI Page!

This was a fascinating experience. I don't quite understand how going to the vet, restaurant, and bathroom earn me money rather than lose it. My little pig Borgin must have golden poops! I have pampered him with a collar, leash, and headband. He is a very happy pig.

I am going to headcannon that after making enough money from PiggyPLAN for Borgin, I was able to buy all the cute dress-up outfits from my game My Pretty Pig! lol

It's more of a reward of taking care of your pet, thus you earn money!
