the atmopshere, writing, and graphics are all absolutely phenomenal. i would give it 10 stars for presentation if i could. this is seriously insanely impressive for such a short time period. i loved the cinematic intro, it was really intriguing and immediately made me want to play the game. even the game page looks super polished and well done. the use of the theme is also really cool. i almost made a game centered around a lighthouse myself lol.

i do agree with the other reviews as far as gameplay goes- it isn't immediately clear where you're supposed to bring the ships. i'm guessing potentially the crate's cargo color corresponds to the color you bring it to? i'm not sure though, as my game also always froze after the first ship was saved and getting an upgrade. this has insane potential though, the presentation really blew me away. super impressive stuff!

Very nice game! Beautiful graphics and a very well-crafted atmosphere! It fits the theme perfectly! But unfortunately, I couldn't get past the first boat, as the game always froze whenever it reached its destination.

That’s an impressive game!

First of all, the visuals are stunning. The full cinematic intro left me breathless! The lighthouse works as a strong metaphor for isolation, which makes the whole experience truly atmospheric.

However, it wasn’t immediately clear what exactly I was supposed to do. At first, I tried guiding the ships beyond the top edge of the map, based on the mission text “until they slip beyond the lighthouse’s reach.” Then I tried bringing the ships close to the lighthouse itself. Later, I noticed the safe havens (small islands marked with icons resembling ships) and attempted to dock the ships there. None of these approaches worked. After that, I guided a ship toward the green beam of light on the map, then I tried the blue one, and finally the red beam. At first, I assumed the red light was something to avoid, since red usually signals danger, but this time it worked!

I would happily return to this game in the future if you decide to develop it into a full project! This has huge potential!

Ahh thank you so much!! That honestly made my day 😄✨
The cinematic intro and the lighthouse-as-isolation metaphor were exactly the vibe I was going for, so hearing it landed like that is amazing.

And thank you for describing your play experience in so much detail — you basically pinpointed the biggest issue with this jam build: the goal isn’t communicated clearly enough. Everything you tried makes total sense (especially interpreting “slip beyond the lighthouse’s reach” as going past the map edge), and the red light reading as “danger” is a completely natural assumption. We unintentionally set players up for the wrong interpretation there 😅

This version ended up shipping with some tutorial/feedback gaps, but we’re already working on improvements: making the objective explicit right at the start, clarifying what each color means visually, and adding a small in-game tutorial so players don’t have to guess.

If you’re up for it, I’d love for you to try it again once I post the update — your feedback was super helpful and really actionable. And seriously, thank you for saying you’d come back if this becomes a full project. That kind of encouragement is huge 💙

Absolutely adore the writing style - sets a lovely mood. Perfect ambience and ocean sounds too - though I wish the ambience continued playing over the introductory text for extra mood.

I was a bit stumped at first as to how to play the game. I found a boat and found a port lit up in green - so I led the boat over to green! But they wouldn't dock. After a bit found another port in red - for some reason the boat only wanted the red port. Not sure what the green port was for?

The upgrades didn't seem to work either. I took the "press Q" to highlight boats but nothing seemed to happen when I pressed Q. I assume this is what the instructions meant using hints cos not sure what the hints are meant to be otherwise. Speaking of - the instructions list of a bunch of sea references and not sure what we're meant to do with that info.

All in all the mood is great, but I wish there'd been a bit of an in game tutorial/some text just saying "use WASD to move the light and take boats to any red ports you find." Stuff like that. Anyhow just wanted to give some feedback on play experience but nonetheless this an excellent bit of work for a weekend.

Thank you so much for the feedback — I really appreciate it! 😊
We ran into a few last-minute issues getting the build uploaded: the project ended up being too large, and we had to spend a chunk of time doing emergency optimizations… classic game jam life 😅

The funny part is that a lot of what you pointed out (clearer tutorial, the ports, upgrades, and even keeping the ambience playing over the intro text) has already been reviewed and adjusted on our side — but we didn’t manage to get that updated version into the final jam upload.

As soon as the jam ends, we’ll post an update with those improvements. If you’re up for giving it another try afterward, I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts and see if the experience feels smoother and clearer. Thanks again for taking the time to write this!

I really like this concept and the visuals, music, and SFX are nice. I wasn't able to save any ships after about 4 tries sadly. I wasn't exactly sure where to bring them. But very nice game!

Wonderful presentation! My only complaint is that I could never tell which dock I was supposed to lead each ship to, so I sometimes had to guide them to all three before I found the correct one. Other than that, I really enjoyed this!

Excellent work!

After posting that, I noticed that there's an indicator when you first shine the light on the boat, but perhaps you could make that flash each time you shine your beam on a boat to make it more clear.

Also, I ran into an issue where a boat can get stuck outside of the playable area if it's trying to turn around at the edge of the ocean and the beam can't reach it anymore.
