How does your game represent "Slick"?
As you complete deliveries, the map will become covered with more and more slick ice that you have to navigate around.

The package cam cracked me up so hard. Great game, I love how fucking slick those roads are. Reminded me of driving go-karts as a kid

This was very cool, I enjoyed it. I liked the delivery view,  the box just disappeared after I've done triple flip. I got a "Bad" rating - no wonder. I liked the map on the phone ( as a programmer the thought of programming that excites me). The theme is there. The style gave me quite a bit of silent hill 1 vibes. Very good job!

Good luck in your future projects.

Thank you! I can definitely share how we did the minimap! I originally thought I was going to have to manually set up a node graph and then use A* to get a minimal path for the driver from their current position to their destination.  Thankfully though, as I was researching online, I came across unity's navmesh system, which was specifically designed to have npc agents walk through designated areas, using A* under the hood. The way you're supposed to use it is that you need to create a navmesh from all the meshes that can be walked on, then hook up a navmesh agent component to the npcs you want walking around your map. What I found though is that you can also just directly request a path from the navmesh, and as long as your source and destination vectors are close enough to the navmesh, it will give you a list of nodes to get you from point A to point B. After that it was pretty easy to draw a line way above the player on the minimap layer to overlay on top of the map!

One thing I did wish I had more time for was getting it working for the whole map, as it currently stands the navmesh was only generated for the roads. I tried making a navmesh for the entire map but it made the game way too laggy. That's why driving off the roads gives you the "recalculating" message 😂

Dude, when I saw it, I thought to myself, “Couldn’t you just use a NavMesh for that?” I had the same idea as for why it was ‘recalculating’. Still, I think making it stick to the roads added to realism as any other real-life map would do the same.
Great job on this one—I love a good programming challenge!

This game made driving around like a madman and delivering smashed food fun! Honestly though it feels pretty good with controller, the keyboard controls are really hard to use.

I love a lot of the ideas in this game, and I love any drifting game. It's a bit crazy with how sensitive it is (esp on keyboard) but the package breaking system and the car suspension were top notch. Great job!

Wow those are some slick roads. I could barely steer. I really liked the package fragility mechanic as well as the package cam. Fun game!

Very hard, I did not do well at this game, but it was very funny. Great physical comedy especially with the cracks accruing on the phone and seeing the package in the backseat fly around. The GPS constantly recalculating also got a laugh.

This game really makes you feel like you're driving through a snow storm. Awesome work!

Very much emodied slick. I rolled my car so many times. and i also was not able to do a good delivery. but that was more a skill issue, and i had so much fun playing this. was really good.

Really enjoyed the aesthetics of this one, from the models/texuring, to the handrawn UI. The physics are all over the place, but somehow not frustrating, and it makes me feel big brain taking shortcuts when I see em' on the GPS.

But I almost wish you were scored purely on time, rather than on the condition of the food as well, because running into funky hitboxes that I couldn't see can really take me out of the fun zone, but I get what you were going for. Very slick entry!

thanks for the kind feedback!

honestly i feel the same about the physics imo, sometimes when you flip it barely deals damage but when you turn it deals A TON of damage

Excellent work! Those were some slick roads for sure!

This is a fun game! The slick roads make me really feel like I'm driving on ice and the GPS/Food Cam elements are a great touch!

Hey there!
The game is very polished and looks professional. I really liked that the trees are rendered only within a certain distance from the player to improve performance.
The car's control is a bit odd for me but the core gameplay loop is solid
Really nice work!

I am getting this package to it's destination dead or alive... most likely dead. Love the picture in picture of the package taking a beating as I did my best FedEx impression. The hand holding the phone is very clever and explains my complete lack of motor control. Very fun game!

So fun! The moments were you hit a slick patch, spin out and are able to correct without losing your momentum, are genuinely exhilarating. Also, package cam is one of my fave features I've seen in this jam lol so good.

Very cool. Insane talent. The Big Leagues are calling, twin

Fun delivery game! I love the little backseat cam to show exactly how much care I'm putting into delivering the food lol. The controls on keyboard were hard for me to get accustomed to. Had a lot more trouble with that than with the ice patches.

Developer

Thanks for liking the game!

About the game being hard to control: its intended (im not really sure how it works as i only designed the 3d assets)

Kept discovering little extra touches in this awesome entry

Love the intro monologue/setting, visuals, and music! The core gameplay loop is solid, the car turning feels a little sensitive for my taste. Good stuff!
