How does your game represent "Slick"?
There's nothing slicker than a smooth-talking, wise-cracking, money-nabbing conman. Well, except for the devil himself.
In our game, the "Slickness" comes from trying to beat the devil at a classic conman game, 3 cup shuffle. We think there's a few "Slick" ways you can use to cheat the devil as well.

Beautiful game!
I really liked the eerie atmosphere! It’s based on a classic concept, but the additions like more cups and items make it feel fresh and enjoyable.
a yes a cup and ball game
a really unique spin on the formula
I like
(and also I did not steal the game idea of making a cup and ball "game") [just saying]
I love the music and the gameplay. I thought I was good until the devil started adding more cups to track.
Thank you! Ya, the difficulty tuning has been a big discussion in the comments haha
holy shmoly i won! I think this devil guy is pretty neat giving me all these items, i never quite figured out how to use the statue? it said ring bell, then use but it never got used! the vibe, presentation, music, opening/closing reels all of it was immaculate! The game play was fun and a nice take on the follow the cup game, making it more difficult with two and than three different cups to track was a GREAT touch! this was amazing, hands down god-tier!
For the statue, once you click it and "Pick it up", you need to then click the cups. We debated having it be auto-use kind of how you describe, but felt like sometimes you aren't ready, and then waste an item. We were planning to have the cups pulse with the outline kind of like the bell, but just ran out of time. Thank you for the feedback! Appreciate you playing!
Love the tone and atmosphere. Such a fun riff on a classic type of game. Congrats!
Thank you!
This is a cool game. I appreciate that you took the time to create an intro, though the film effect could be toned down a bit (or have a flashing lights warning). The visuals, sound, and music all add a lot to the immersion. The devil's hands are sooo creepy! The mechanics seem to work well too. Good work!
Thank you! And ya, good call to have a flashing lights warning in the future.
Great atmosphere and fun mechanics! The intro is a bit rough on the eyes, especially in full screen. Also weird how instead of IV and V we get IIII and IIIII. But it didn't really get in the way of completing a run and experimenting with the items. Cool game!
Thank you! Appreciate you playing and leaving the feedback!
Love the art style and atmosphere. Makes the whole experience come together. It's a simple game mechanic but the atmosphere draws me in to play more. If this was just a whiteboxed game where cups were shuffled I would 100% not play until the end like I did with this game. As fun as it is programming complex game mechanics like an oiled machine it's good to remember that's not entirely what makes games great. Can't wait to see future submissions from you guys and maybe even a plug to a game on the market if that ever ends up happening
Thank you! You make a great point as well. Simple mechanics done great can still lead to a memorable experience.
this game has such a unique style, I like it~ it reminds me of PS1 in a way
Thank you!
Captured the inscryption vibes very well here and executed to an impressive degree. Loved the music as well. I could see this being fleshed out for sure. Great job!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that!
Simple idea done very well. Only complaint is I would’ve liked to have been able to see the effect of post-bell items ahead of time.
Great feedback. Clarity was big for us, but the pre and post bell items were a bit of a challenge in terms of how we telegraph that information. Definitely worth a second look in terms of how we do that.
ps is there a round 6 after you beat the game?
No, once you get to the final cutscene, that's it. There's no more content beyond that.
Must be a tiny little bug then: after I beat the game, i tried playing again, but after the intro cutscene, the sign said IIIII I (6 I's) and the gameplay was basically the final round. I thought it was gonna be extra hard levels for beating the first five rounds without items. My mind would have been blown!
That would've been cool! Definitely something we'll keep in mind
Oops I think we forgot to reset the coins / rounds counter between scene changes!
There isn’t much else to say that hasn’t already been said. It was fun trying to beat the game using the fewest items possible. Up until the last level, it was pretty manageable. It’s a masterpiece, well done!
Thank you so much! Very humbling to hear!
"maybe power and happiness are the same thing?"
5/5 mastapeece!
You're too kind! Appreciate you taking the time to play!
Absolutely one of the most polished games in the Jam so far, the mood is absolutely perfect and had me staring at the little cups and trying to follow the balls with my fingers, one thing is that the round with two balls and three cups was quite a lot easier then the rest since you can just track the cup which does not contain a ball. The gradual introduction of the items made it so they were not too overwhelming and kept the game surprising throughout all of the rounds. Ending was also amazing, I also looked to see if there was a bad ending and nearly got a heart attack lol. Insae submission!
Thanks so much! Your insight on the 2 balls level is really smart, and definitely something we'll noodle with a bit more.
Yeah I tried to power-up the speed to make up for the "ah-ha" moment of realizing that you just need to keep an eye on 1 cup, I think we left it a little easy still though! Thanks for playing!
I really like this one! the style is great. i did find that the difficulty curve is a bit odd. i personally found most of the rounds very easy, but the last one impossible. but i think it should be difficult to beat the devil!
i found the last one easy, but the other rounds after round 1 harder. For me, what helped with the final round was knowing which cups to ignore, and seeing the "shape" of the 3 balls. Either that, or I just leaned on items.
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate your feedback!
pretty cool! Honestly beat it first try so difficulty was fine for me.
Thanks for playing and offering some insight on the difficulty!
a simple but effective idea (Inscryption but with 3 cup shuffle) executed incredibly well. The only thing I’ll say is that I think the game is a little bit easy as it stands, and that the Devil should cheat a little bit more. Something along the lines of cups that teleport with an effect rather than moving, cups that add or remove a ball mid-game, or other random nonsense meant to confuse the player and make it less possible to beat the game with pure 3 cup skill.
Still an incredibly strong showing for a game jam game, I’m very impressed.
Thank you! Ya, we had quite a few additional ideas that never made it in. The devil having items of his own. Fake balls that trick the player. Etc. Your teleport idea is really great too. Appreciate you playing and leaving some feedback!
Yeah I think the difficulty was cranked up a tad easy at the last hour so we could ensure players could make it to the final cutscene.
I love the idea of the teleport to add difficulty! Already looking forward to adding so much more post-jam!
I totally get it, the last two or so hours of our dev time was spent arguing over difficulty lol. It’s hard because you don’t want to make it too hard for people to enjoy, but you also don’t want it to be too easy to the point where it’s not fun anymore. Normally I would assume this is solved with beta tests, but that isn’t really an option with this limited a timeframe
whoooa this is insanely slick... epic opening cut scene... great graphics... cool gameplay... WAY TO HARD FOR ME THO AHHHH
Thanks very much! And ya, a difficulty slider might be necessary in this game's future. Appreciate your insight!
