This was definitely a fascinating and captivating game. The art style and the music work together incredibly well. The oddness and stillness and isolation are an excellent combination. I was fascinated and tried playing it 3 times. I do agree with one of the other commenters here, the note was hard to read. It was a lot of type, I think using a geometric sans serif font may have been a better option or just increasing the leading since the lines of words are realllly close together. That is only because the entire game I am feeling pressured to move quickly and to get the tasks done, so stopping to read the note feels like it's slowing me down too much from the tasks I need to do, if that makes sense. I stopped playing after my 3rd loss because I received my 2nd note, and then got a game over screen. The game over's felt arbitrary to me, if you could add a little note at the end that says "Game Over" and underneath says "You forgot to eat" or "You forgot to sleep" or something that let me know why I lost, that would have helped. For doing this in 48 hours tho, this is incredibly impressive! I am fascinated by the style, the weird gameplay, trying to accomplish slow tasks quickly, and trying to survive. It strikes a fascinating balance and it feels isolated without feeling eerie. Excellent work!
Thank you so much! This feedback is super helpful, some of the most constructive criticism I have received. I did think about the note issue because its a management game, so maybe I will make time slow when your are reading and maybe add a magnifying glass or make the lines farther apart like you said. As for the game over screen, I can see how that would be frustrating. Glad you enjoyed it and I like to hear that you did multiple attempts! Thanks!
also are you an artist?
Yes! You can check out my work at samlarsonstudio.com I am a Graphic Designer, I love illustration and have been working on learning that, and I've been taking animation classes online!
Good luck!
Thank you so much, you too! I'll be keeping an eye out for more of your games, your work is amazing!
Tysm!
Wow, you nailed the feeling of "isolation" on an emotional level. I mean, what a life this guy's living! The constant dread of something falling out of balance was palpable, and yet all that effort was just to maintain a pretty sorry state of affairs. It made me think about my own life in ways I don't want to admit. I've never seen manually pulling water through a plant's veins as a game mechanic before, but it somehow felt very bleak, as did having to pluck thorns just to get something to eat. Loved the storybook illustration-like visuals and the moody music, all working together to set the tone. I think maybe the letters could've had less text and more frequency to parcel out the story over time, but it was an interesting idea to include a sort of diary. Also, this is a small nitpick, but I think your logotype for the game title doesn't really match the mood of the game itself (maybe it was meant ironically?). Overall, a unique take on the theme!
Wow... Thank you so much for all that feedback. I am very glad it was a good experience for you!!!
Nice art style and color palette! Like the idea <3
Peak Game, but i couldnt read letters (, visual of this game is incredible, i love design of flowers
thanks! why couldnt you read them and how do you suggest I fix it?
I couldnt read it because i have eyes problem, and font size is very small, maybe you could make 2 or 3 pages
I like the vibes this game give. The arts also looks good.Thing that impressed me the most is music. It's ... I don't know how to describe it but it's good. One thing is texts on letters are too small I almost couldn't read it( or is there a way to scale it up that I don't know. You can tell me ^-^)
yeah, the letters are kinda small because I didnt have the time to add a magnifying glass (was planned!) sorry about that. you should be able to scale up the page with ctrl + or ctrl scroll since its an html embed. as for the music, I didnt make it, but I intentionally selected it to fit along the vibes of a game like World of Goo, which was my biggest inspiration for the feel of the game. Thanks for the kind words!
this was a experience my brain created its story on its own when seeing the game this is a cool entry.
Wow thanks!
I kept it emotional but more conceptual, so it it cool to see the outcome!
Well done, i liked the style and story of the game. Great work!

Thanks!
Wow, cool game! it has some similaritys to mine!
Did you do that AMAZING art!!>!>!>!??!?!?>!?>?!>!
Simple pixel att i did by myself. Semi-realistic art in puzzles i created by using free stock images and applying filters to them, to match the game art style
Ok, cool! Nice palette choice.
very cool
Thanks!
