How does your game represent "Slick"?
In "Road Hogs," you play as a SLICK 1950s-era greaser who must SLICKLY navigate his motorcycle through incoming traffic and occasional pitfalls on the road. That sounds rough! What could possibly be even worse than that?! How about not looking cool/SLICK?!
The motorcycle's fast movements will slowly cause the greaser's SLICKED back hair to get all messed up. As such, you need to collect green hair gel containers to keep his hair looking nice and SLICK!

Slick presentation!!
I really wish my greaser to nab the other greasers' motorcycles
It's not fair that they can drive on potholes
Thanks for playing! (I didn't have enough time to code proper logic for the bikers, but I'll be sure to fix it in a future update.)
You absolutely NAILED the NES feel. The UI, character design, hell even the box art/thumbnail. Absolutely amazing! I just wish the gameplay was slightly more engaging but it's really cool! Great work!
Thanks for the kind words! I had more gameplay mechanics in mind, but I didn't have as much time as I thought I would to implement them. I am planning a post-jam update to add more features and fix some issues.
Nostalgic retro vibes! Love the pixel-art, and of course my hog is powered by hair gel because this pompadour is gas. The parallaxing of the background is super slick. The simple control scheme and gameplay loop is refreshing. This is a charming game, and I would love to see it fleshed out with some more obstacles and scenery. Great work!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I'm currently working on an update to add more obstacles, moves, and quality of life features that were originally planned but were cut for time... ;D
The death sound almost killed me irl XD Really boppy little soundtrack and the visuals are neat. Instant nostalgia vibes :D
Thanks for playing! I'll definitely be fine-tuning the sound effect timings and volumes for a post-jam update.
Cool, simple, fun. This would have done numbers at the arcade.
Thanks for the kind words! :D

Nice work! Very cool retro-style graphics. If anything the sound design could use some polish. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely be fine-tuning the sound effects after the game jam.
hahah, music was beautiful, but I wished to volume down a little bit. I really liked the game and played a while. Good concept beautifully applied, difficulty increase rate is good. The end game sound effect is a bit off.
I appreciate your feedback! Thanks for playing!
Like many said the NES style looks great, the other greasers I wish looked different, I thought they were apart of my gang and ran into them just to die, thats just me being friendly tho ig
Yeah, I wanted to make more unique designs and animations, but I wasn't able to finish them in time for the game jam... Thanks for your feedback, though!
Slick hair! I think the difficulty progression is well-balanced. I think it'd be nice if your greaser was a little different from the other greasers, like your hair was the slickest or something to help differentiate from the NPCs.
Yeah, I originally planned to have different types of vehicles on the road, but I didn't have enough time to implement them. I appreciate the feedback!
Who knew that being unstylish could kill me? I did a run where I purposely didn't pick up any hair gel just to see what would happen. Well... I'm sure you know how that turned out. During the next run though, no hair gel spawned at all. I'm not sure if I got bad RNG or what. Either way, this is a cute little game and uses the slick theme well. I also love the retro, NES-style cover art. Nice work!
I'm thinking of adding some moves that could refill the slickness meter in a post-jam update, so that should hopefully fix the unpredictable RNG of the hair gel spawn rates. Thanks for playing!
Nice little game.
Thanks for playing!
Huge fan of the NES era style! This very much feels like a legit game from that time. I loved eventually riding with my fellow bros on the road, haha. Awesome job!
Thanks for the kind words! I really like working within the limitations of older consoles, especially the Game Boy and NES.
I love the styling of this game! I really enjoyed the music and the design of the cool greaser guy on the bike which both felt very faithful to the limitations of the NES. Cool game!
I'm glad you liked it! I really enjoyed limiting myself to the NES color palette and technical limitations.
This is pretty cool B)
Thanks! :D
Fun time, the NES style is super well done!
Thanks! :P
I LOVE the NES graphics and the unique take on the theme! nice job!
Thanks so much! :)
Pretty slick! I liked the NES style graphics
Thanks!
Simple but cute game! I really like the NES style art. Well done!
