How does your game represent "Slick"?
The main mechanic is a slick, satisfying slide of shapes. Also, I made all of the sprites and the background texture from my daughter's play-doh, which I think made this project look pretty slick.

love the aesthetics of this one! the music was really good and suited the experience really well. the gameplay kinda left me cold but it was relaxing for what it was
thanks a lot!! Sorry the gameplay isn’t more engaging, I only had a few days I could set aside some time to build this thing and I felt I needed to grab the first idea I knew I could execute quickly :D
ZUMA!
I wish Soul Slide was as fun as ZUMA
Fun puzzle game with a super unique visual style! I like teh roguelike style of trying ot compelte them all in a row, and I was happy to beat it!
thank you so much!! It was a joy to create and honestly I’ve been getting a big kick out of playing it myself!!
Cool puzzle game elevated by the music! I was going to recommend an endless or arcade mode, but it looks like you already know, so consider this reinforcement.
thanks a lot!! I love to make music, so I’m really glad my music is getting called out by so many participants :D
I'm a sucker for puzzle game, I think I could have beaten it, but I was in a yellow drought and all I needed was yellow! 3rd stage's music was TOO scary, but this game had some bops in it! good job!
I hate when that happens!!! Sometimes I just need one shape and I won’t get it for like 20 turns!
One of my highest rated games. Music and sound design made me really enjoy this one. Also game play was simple but addicting. Keep on deving friend.
I am so glad you enjoy it! Thank you for your kind words of encouragement
idk why this give me those old 3d nostgalia graphics vibes aha, but the gameplay is super chill and i could totally just play this for ages!
thanks!!! that's exactly what I was going for :D after the jam I intend to add some more gameplay features including an arcade mode that you can play indefinitely
The art for this is goated, made me somehow miss windows clippy
thank you so much!! I think this was subconsciously influenced by clippy in a profound way :D
The only thing i can say is the game ended too quickly!!!! The game was really satisfying. The art was super cool the stop motion movement of the god was super cool and the music was really vibey. A very SLICK game!
Thank you so much! I’m very glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I regret neglecting to implement an arcade mode that goes on indefinitely that can be accessed instead of story mode or after story mode.
art is amazing and holy crap the intro music is BANGING. game is fun af. i somehow glitched and skipped level 2 so level 3 came at me hard, what difficulty spike that was lol. great job, this is awesome!
thank you so much! Music is my passion :D I’m so glad you had fun with the game, it was a joy to create
The art is amazing
thank you!!
Actually, a banger, I could keep playing this for much, much longer...

Actually, I think I just might. Great use of match 3!
well done! I’m so glad you enjoyed it
I love the art and aesthetics! The bizzarro ring talking to you and then becoming Exclamation/question marks, that was cool, like talking to a claymation Clippy! And then the game was quite fun, having all the tracks come at you makes it more like a management game, I liked that!
Only complaint would be for me the 2nd and 3rd third level completed way faster than the first. I didn't even get 10 moves in on the 3rd level. Maybe I just got lucky with powerups, not really sure. Final time 02:35. Also, the first level music was fantastic it set a nice vibe!
thank you so much! I’m very glad you enjoyed it (and yes, sorry about the weird difficulty! It is very easy if you get a seed with lots of stacking multipliers)
Loved the aesthetic and music switch-ups
thank you!!
Quite chill, nice music and bonus points for play-doh art.
thanks!
Aesthetics for this game are so slick and trippy!
thank you!!!
Aesthetics for this game are so slick and trippy!
i loved the graphics and the music! there's just something just so tactile and satisfying about pixelated claymation. the music combined with the clay made for an offbeat and creative vibe when starting the game which i really appreciated.
the mechanics were fun! it did eventually start to feel like there wasn't much strategy to what i was doing. i mostly just matched colors, prioritizing rows that were closer or had powerups. i didn't have to think too hard to beat the game, but the vibes made it rewarding all the same!
the best reference i can think of is Zuma. Zuma is a color matching game that is sort of similar in that there are one or more 1-dimensional tracks of colors that can be shortened via matching, and you can't let them get too long. but you can inject colors into the track at multiple points via aimed shots. this opens up the important mechanic of comboing, where you can pile up planned matches to intentionally delay them so you can get a higher score later. this adds risk/reward to the gameplay --- you risk making the line longer so you can get the reward of a higher score. it just felt to me like Soul Slide would've been even better with more risk/reward!
for example, what if you could sacrifice a turn to rearrange the contents of a line? it'd be a risk because that time is valuable. and then what if the only way to get powerups was to get combos? then you'd have to balance the risk of building combos with the safety of just doing regular color matching, adding some risk/reward and push/pull to the gameplay.
my last thought is what if matching three in a line added a single block of that color to the next line clockwise? that way your combos could span multiple lines.
just figured i'd add my thoughts because i loved the experience and thought it ended up with some untapped potential!
Thanks so much! Those are both awesome ideas! I’m excited to put a little extra into the game after the jam is over :D

what a weird acid trip this game is, this is not my cup of tea BUT i think it's crazy enough it stole my attention for a very long while lmao! How did you think this?????? What????? So original and weird, it's really charming! One of this jams gems for sure! Good joob and good luck on the jam :D
Wow!!! Thank you so much for your kind words. Interestingly, I was very unsure what to do for the jam and I had spent a few days thinking it over… knowing I wouldn’t have very much time to dedicate to the project, I had to constrain my thinking a little bit. I was doing some daddy daughter time when the idea hit me that I could make sprites from her play-doh… I didn’t know what the game would be like yet but I took some pictures of the steward that I knew would look trippy and then the pink guy at 8 angles and when I tested out the spinning animation it pretty much all came to me. Sometimes a somewhat small aesthetic component can be the driving force for the entire mechanical design of a product.
That's really coool! Wow, just wow. Really interesting how something so simple could be dream fuel for one of the most weirdly games I've seen this jam! 👏
I like the art a lot and the game is challenging.
Thanks a lot!! If you keep trying eventually you will get a seed that makes everything waaaay too easy hahaha my best time to 10k souls was around 1:30
