Quite an interesting concept! I was able to make it to the final boss, but couldn’t figure out how to access my items during combat and got killed :( The art, assets, and music were all great! I would have like fewer random encounters during the cave section, but overall you’ve got a nice game! Excellent work!

Played on EasyRPG in Retroarch. The Gameboy palette plus the stylistic take on OFF in the battle screen is a great combination. Monster sprites look great and the layering of battle sound effects is on point.

The atmosphere is incredibly thick and suffocating, but there’s a bit of an overreliance on crassness for my liking. Also, the main music track doesn’t pause when the other tracks kick in, which takes away a bit.

Still, the visuals, music, and a good bit of the writing all contribute to this overall feel which is super difficult to describe but really interesting and unique.

Some people are reporting the game is not functional.  In this case, please run the game using an RPG Maker 2003 emulator like Easy RPG Player on windows and android, or iEasyRPG on iOS.  I have made the correct installer, but I cannot upload it until the jam is over so this workaround will have to do.  Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm new to this :)
