I’m thrilled to announce that I have officially completed my first full localization project! While it’s my first credited title, it was a fantastic experience, and I’m deeply grateful to the developer for the opportunity to prove my quality.
As some of you may know, I’m a dedicated Japanese localizer specialized in indie games. I am currently offering my services entirely for free, regardless of word count or project size, to build strong partnerships within the community.
Since my last post, I’ve been busy launching my official website and social media to showcase my workflow. Now that I’ve finished setting up my infrastructure, I am eager and ready to take on new projects! While I’m currently working on one project and have three others lined up, I have streamlined my process and am looking for more games to bring to the Japanese market.
What I offer:
- Nuanced Manual Translation: I move beyond literal word-for-word conversion. I tailor every line to fit the character's personality, emotional state, and the specific context of the scene, ensuring the most natural Japanese phrasing.
- Transparent Translation Logic: Upon request, I can provide detailed notes within the translation files explaining the reasoning behind specific phrasing and how it differs from (or improves upon) machine translation.
- In-Game LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance): I don't just translate text in a spreadsheet. I perform hands-on testing to check for text overflows, font legibility, and contextual consistency within the actual game environment.
- Bug Reporting & Feedback: As an optional service, I provide reports on any bugs or UI/UX issues discovered during my playtests to help improve the overall polish of your title.
I’ve received very positive feedback from the developers I’m currently working with, and I’m committed to constantly deepening my understanding of both language and culture to deliver the best quality.
Japan is a small island nation, but as you know, it has a massive gaming culture. I want to help more hidden gems from around the world reach Japanese players.
