  • Rat/10 very rat, would rat again. Though the map boarder felt weird and I got stuck at one point due to my camera being under the ground. Otherwise it was a decent game.
  • As a huge fan of rats, especially rat kings, this was a lot of fun. The light on the player is a huge help to see where you are and where to possibly go, but a HUGE no in games are invisible walls. There should of been some sort of barrier, wall, vfx, fence, etc to show where the map ends. I had issues finding where to go the first few rounds but I got the hang of things the more I played. The feedback on the wires are nice, the electrical rays shooting out when I bit the wire was a fun indicator. I wish I would visually see the wire break though. There should have been two models (an intact wire and a chewed wire). The models are fun, but the scale of everything is kinda odd. There are times where you can move metal barrels or tires, but it makes me wonder the scale of the rat. Next to the barrel the rat is almost that same height, and the tire is just as big as the rat. But there are buildings in the world that are just a little taller than the barrrels. I reccomend picking a scale (is the rat human height or rat height?) and sticking with it. Either way the barrel to building ratio is off. Great job on the UI, and I appreciate the lowpoly rat meme. Have you guys ever played the xbox 360 ratatoullie game? I think you'll have a blast. Wonderful job, game jams are difficult, but you guys made a playable game with a start and end.
  • Some of the mini-games didn't give enough time for me to understand what it wanted before asking for input, that made it difficult to engage with the full game. I did get stuck on some of the level geometry at one point, specifically around the world boundary. It did work on Linux through Proton/Steam! ProtonDB Rating: Platinum
  • The main menu with the rats with animating tails? 10/10, absolutely love it! The flocking rat mechanics are highly entertaining and the whole game is solid. I was able to make it through and win, and everything worked. Bonus points for the interactive barrels, those always make games better! The minigames work really well, I really enjoy the wire cutting one. They’re fun, snappy and easy to figure out in a few seconds. They all made sense the first time round. One small suggestion for the wire cutting minigame: a brief "Ready, Go!" pop up might be a nice touch, just to give you a second to get your mouse centered before it starts, as I found my mouse was often right next to one of the red blocks from the get go. In terms of the artistry, the 3D art is cohesive in its style and does a great job at conveying textures. One thing that could really elevate the game to an even higher level of polish would be adding some animation to the rat character — the foundation is already strong, it just needs that extra life. I love the rat menu, and I think there's a great opportunity to subtly bring some of the color palette from the game into the menu to tie them together just that much more. The overarching connection of rats is a great through line, and bridging that slight disconnect between the menu and the game's feel would make the whole experience feel even more cohesive. A couple of small things to keep an eye on. There were a few instances of invisible walls, so make sure all colliders are accounted for. I also managed to get the character stuck on the edge of the map (once or twice), so it's worth checking for any spots where the rat man can get caught. Overall a really fun and unique game jam entry the charm and personality shine through from the menu to the mechanics. The small bugs are easy fixes and with a little polish this would be a very complete package. Great work!
  • Honestly, this game was really fun! The minigames for the wires could give you a little more time to tell what's going on, and could maybe have the visuals updated a little bit. The wires were maybe slightly too hard to find, and it wasn't clear where the edges of the map were. I really loved all the little rats following you around!

Jam Judge(+2)

This game let me live my dreams of destroying things in the middle of night as a feral rodent :))

I’m speechless…

This is… truly a work of art.

OK but for real it’s a good premise, but it’s a little confusing, and it’s very hard to see the walls of the arena so you just kind of collide with what looks like nothing every now and again. Overall nice game but could use some work.
