How does your game represent "Slick"?
It has a slick penguin: "Slick Tony" doing slick tricks on in an antarctic snow park!

Slick Tony loves to eat fish
Big Penguin
haha. I spent so much time modeling the penguin. I wanted someone to see it. So I left a big penguin statue.
Nice little game. It was slick using the ramps
zamn it took me forever just to get all the fish but i had fun just trying to maintain my momentum! i know its a small detail but i would have prefered a wall around the edge of the map to prevent a total restart but thats just me. Overall great game !
That’s a good point. I think at the very least I should’ve spawned the penguin back without resetting the fish. Or maybe added a time penalty.
I guess I’m so used to the brutal nature of roguelike games that I didn’t consider that this game doesn’t need it.
Fun idea and cute character. Controls feel a little slippery at times but you get the hang of it quickly. Nice job!
Thanks! This was my first time modeling a character. I think the eyebrows really give it character.
Super slick! Had fun trying to get all the fishes and speeding up to get some air. Slippery penguin definitely fits the theme!
The mechanic to gain momentum by moving at an angle was really fun to mess around with. Great game!
This game reminded me of playing Monkeyball on my Gamecube, and for that, I thank you. Great game.
I’m so happy that I reminded you of Monkeyball. I had to look up what it was :)
Welp, I guess the game didn't think I was good enough to even give me a time:
:)
Fun game though
unfortunately, you'll need to play it in full screen mode for it to scale correctly.
Well done with your game, it was quite fun to play and collect all the fish! I agree with one of the other comments that the slipperiness makes it a little too hard to get the fish.
I think I have too little control on the player, It's just too slippery. At this point it gets frustrating and you lose agency, feeling like you can't express yourself and you are fighting the controls instead of the designed challenge. One change that could make it better would be to add a 'claw' button? Like holding space to increase your friction so you could make turns like power sliding in Mario Kart. Another common way in racing games is having different coefficient of friction moving forward and sideways, so if the player is going forward but suddenly rotates to the right, it will have more friction on the previous forward direction momentum
Also, an easy addition that would improve the game is to add a circle shadow under the player's xy position. When it is flying you have no idea where he is.
Agreed, I think a shadow would have been a great visual indicator. Also, love your idea about holding space to increase friction!
thank you so much for these thoughtful comments. I agree with you on all of them!
I like the idea of a friction button.
I had enabled shadows but I think it was too small based on the mesh. I will add a bigger shadow.
I definitely don’t want the player to struggle with the controls. A lot of it came down to not having enough unfortunately.
I’m planning a non game jam version where I will add these features :)
I want to go super fast but if I do I miss all the fishes :'( Cute game !
That was a slick game
