How does your game represent "Slick"?
John Slick's primary mode of movement is the slick dance move called the jubi slide also known as the "slickback". His hammer and shot gun also serve as movement tools to either gain speed forward or backwards. He slides around while platforming in his slick outfit.

I like the music and the models.  A little confused on how to kill the robots (is there any way to kill them?)

Developer(+1)

Sadly no 😔 I ran out of time to implement the full idea and settled for just putting them in as props because I spent time making the models lol.

What a blast! Well done!

this is a good one haha, wtf is he a turtle?

hahaha this is so wacky. The platforming and movement actually felt really good. I would've liked to see more

Nice movement, it has potential

John Slick actually a slicky one. This little guy is cool

The movement is fun! I got the impression I was supposed to be able to kill those brobots, but it didn't seem to work properly. Very nice visuals and music though!

Slick moves John Slick! The performance was a bit rough for me personally but got better overtime, movement mechanics are fun and some slick sounds! John Slick would probably be a pretty good presenter on Slickback Radio, but would you?

Find out by playing our game! Will you be the slickest dude on the airwaves?

Very nice! Thank you!!!

I got some serious like spikes for the first 20 secs then smooth sailing after that! Loved the slick slide dancing turtle anims and art! The shotgun knockback boost while not needed for most of the parkour was pretty fun to play around with for speedrunning! I am glad I made it to the top!

Yeah 😩 the lag spikes have something to do with the cameras collision with those box assets at the beginning of the game. Only noticed it after I had submitted and it was too late.  And haha, there was supposed to be more mechanics involving the gun and killing the enemies but I wasn't able to get it done in time. It was basically a solo project (aside from the rig/animations) and I was literally learning Godot and gdscript for the first time while modeling the characters and whatnot 😅.

Well fantastic work for solo work in the time frame on a new engine!

Oh wow, same here! Check out my submission, I wasn’t able to finish it the way I wanted it to be but it’s a nice little demo. Apart from being a software dev for 10+ years I had no prior gamedev experience so I had to learn how to do everything in Godot. I’m pretty happy with the result though, I think it’s awesome. And the fact that this is your first game too makes your attempt even better!

Howdy: this looks super cool, and I enjoyed the vibe when I booted it up, but pretty severe performance issues kept me from going too far. Would love to retry if I had a stronger PC ;_;

This was fun! I loved the speed of the main character, although initially it wasn’t too comfortable with the sliding. But in like 30 seconds I already raced across the level. I reached the top, yay!

I definitely love the level design, it was interesting to explore. The platforming was challenging but not too hard, I think that’s good. The only thing I am a bit unsure about is the soundtrack (which is sick!) - I think the rules said no copyrighted content and I’m afraid this song might be copyrighted.

Overall great job, it’s weird there aren’t any reviews so far.

P.S. The description says LMB/RMB are for melee/shooting as well, but I didn’t understand how to do that
