How does your game represent "Slick"?
Blood is slick. Making the player being able to walk only over blood is slick x2

This is brilliant lol The floor is lava + hotline miami is just genius. So fun. Well done!
Awesome gameplay!. Excellent presentation. The blood mechanic was hard for me but I would play this game again 100%. Excellent job!
Thank you for your review!
Gave me lots of nostalgia from playing stickpage games as a kid...
Thank you for your review!
Is was amazing ! I made it with 10700 score, it was sooo hard to get the hand of the controls I thought I'd never finish the first level and once I made it it was a pleasant hardcore hotline miami like game.
Thanks for your review! Apparently you're one of the first people to have completed the game FULLY. If you completed it completely, were the second and third levels easier than the first? Or was the difficulty curve "normal"?
I had a easier time completing the second and third, I don't think they are easier but because you are more used to the controls at this point they fell easier, so I guess the first should be easier yeah
Yes, thanks for the feedback. The first few locations will be easier in the full version
Slickline miami with a twist! fun game with an interesting concept! however this was mega difficult idk if it was just my poor skillz but i died WAY to much, even strangely before the level began i would just walk forward and die several times in a row. Not sure if it thought i wasn’t standing on blood. The concept of the blood drying and forcing you to move forward was a great implement! slick game !
Your skills are fine. I just overdid it with the difficulty (I tried it myself and let two friends try it, and two of the three found it easy, so I left the timer as is). There will be a patch after the jam that will increase the timer for non-blood runs, so I'd like you to try it again in the future
Really cool idea. Shooting has some real weight to it, and the friendly fire interaction is really neat. The game is rather tough! I think 1.5 seconds is wayy too short of a grace period for being away from the blood, especially since the player has so much inertia all the time. Seems like you already have an update planned, so I'm really looking forward to playing this after that. Overall, nice work!
Yes, I plan to increase the blood drying timer, as well as the grace period to 2 seconds
What an amazing spin on the slick theme: You kill and spill enemy blood and use that blood to keep moving. Only a truly creative Game designer can come up with this kind of out-of-the-box thinking :D
Do make sure to play and rate our game as well (it might take a minute for it to load)
Hi and thanks for the review! If I have time, I'll definitely try your game!
Thank you, much appreciated 🙏🏼
Phenomenal concept and slick as hell. Difficulty is real steep but otherwise I really liked this.
I will adjust difficulty when jam is ended. My only playtesters were two of my friends and for one it was very easy, but for the other it was too hard, so I left the difficulty on high
guess who has two thumbs and loves hotline miami :D
Well i am glad you liked it!
Very slick - it remind me Hotline Miami, very cool music and visual
Thank you for ytour review!
Cool idea. Really difficult so i couldn't get far but still enjoyed and would buy if you made a full version.
Today I'll release a small tweak where I'll reduce the difficulty a bit
P.S. Okay, I just noticed that you can only update after the jam is finished
Ye thats cool, I'll follow so I can see the update.
I made a similarish game (Hotline miami themed around blood) for a uni project - but your idea of the having to stay on the blood is for real great and am 100% serious that if you developed it further i'd be buying.
Really cool game, and a clever use of the theme.
I feel like 1.5s is way too short of a time that you can be off blood for, it felt like I could be in the middle of a patch of blood and move to a slightly less bloody area and it would be game over before I could react. It might work better with a more forgiving duration, or have it so it slowly eats away a health bar rather than instantly kills you.
Otherwise it was pretty cool :)
The difficulty would require some tweaking for sure, but overall the game slaps.
SLICK meter is off the charts. Difficulty is a brick wall unfortunately
The style and presentation are very well done! The gameplay is solid, though really hard. The theme is spot‑on, and the music fits great too.
Hey there, I didn't get very far either, you have to hold shift before you shoot I'd have to work on developing that muscle memory a little. Love the music!
The shifter is used mainly for braking
This a beautiful game with an amazing soundtrack. However, this was a little too difficult for me, maybe i'm just a wimp. it took me about 10 deaths to realize i only ever had two bullets, so i can't afford to ever miss, Another 10 deaths learn how to stand directly on the slippery blood while maximizing speed between puddles, and another 10 to finally kill the first four people and get my bearings and attempt to get into the southern room. and after 20 or so more deaths i gave up. i never got any further than that, which is a shame. The focus mechanic seemed almost mandatory for me the whole game up to that point, and even with it i was never fast enough to hit who i needed to in time to not get touched, or die from lack of blood, or run out of ammo. the amount of time i lived made it difficult to learn the basic mechanics, There is a type of gamer this is made for, and i think they will like it a lot. i also think that there are a lot of great ideas here. the difficulty curve just feels a bit like a brick wall. While this review may sound critical, i have giving full marks on presentation and theme. It is a very polished experience and promising concept. The soundtrack and slickness it what caused me to keep pushing as far as i did. Amazing work!
Thanks for the feedback! I was expecting the player to move very quickly and use shift to brake at the right moments. But if you were able to get even a little enjoyment out of it, I'm glad
