How does your game represent "Slick"?
I thought the idea of a game world that vibrates to the beat of whatever music is playing would be slick.
I figured a wire-frame type look to everything would be beneficial to this as you would be able to see each of the lines of the shapes "beat" to the music as you rolled past them.
Quick info: by mistake I left in code that hid your mouse cursor once you hit Start. Please just use alt+F4 if you want to exit out mid game. That was totally my oversight for not adding a button to bring you back to the main menu to exit.

That’s a cool interactive experience. At first, I thought it was going to be something similar to Audiosurf, generating a rhythm-based level using the provided song, but using it for environmental effects is also cool. It reminds me of Hi-Fi Rush, and I love that game to death.
I’m glad you didn’t go overboard with the vfx. People often overdo it when integrating vfx with music, and it can turn into a seizure fest (although the magenta-filled platform did hurt my eyes a little).
Pretty cool visuals! If you expanded it, maybe you could add a rhythm component to get a speed boost to the beat or have the track undulate to the sound waves!
A track length indicator / slider would also be cool
Thanks for playing the game and mentioning a track length tracker. I have been writing down stuff I will be adding after the jam ends and that would be a good thing to be sure to add first.
Wow, I love this!
At first I didn't know what to expect, when I loaded my own song, but the world actually interacts with it in a way I couldn't have imagined!
This is such a creative entry, I had to smile throughout the whole soundtrack!
A technical masterclass with awesome looks, waaaay too slick!
Excellent job!
Thanks for playing!
Hope I can keep improving it after the game jam is over. Some effects bled over too much onto the main path with those shapes lol.
sections where the floor flashed purple were a bit rough, but overall stellar visual flair!
That floor issue was something I noticed once I posted the game lol. Issue with the grid shader I made whenever the track reaches a certain length. Going to add some jumping pads throughout it to make sure it's bypassed for now till I build maps. Thanks for playing!
Of course, right back at you, we can certainly relate there.
Super cool looking game for sure! The pulsating obstacles moving to the music both look cool and add a fun little variety and challenge. Definitely feels like a good start for a larger game, the visuals are quite slick! There was a moment where the entire floor showed up as opaque rather than just pink bars and it flashed and jittered a bit, but it was only for a little bit!
Thank you for playing!
Floor issue was just using one shader for everything. At certain lengths it will cause that. Going to set up jump pads roughly around that area that will add a floating road section for that area.
Very nice looking game, I think some sort of scoring system would go a long to adding replayability, but very cool
There actually is one but I had to "disable" it from showing at the last minute. I ran out of time to code in a status bar showing the health/signal (where the name of the game comes from lol) that is supposed to go down when you hit red things, but also goes when you use boosts or jumps. I just raised player health to a huge amount, so the only way to see the score would be to play a full song to completion which right now is the only way to trigger the game over screen.
And thank you for playing lol.
