Great sound design, got bitten by the dino.
Couldn’t get the washing machine to restart but that’s probably user error. Got jumpscared the first time the dino appeared.
Good work!
It's pretty interesting (and loaded quickly ;), and I like the sound effects. But the gameplay suffers a bit since the rules are a bit unclear. How does the player avoid failing? I always got bitten whether I was in the same room as the intruder or not.
The click to toggle the curtain seems to reset immediately (i.e. it opens/closes with each click). Is it supposed to remain closed to succeed? I tried clicking then pressing 's' and it _seemed_ to remain closed since there was no "opening" sound effect, though didn't prevent the inevitable. :)
And it was unclear when time passed. It seemed time only passed when you moved, but I found cases where I would do the recommended "hide in bed" yet the glass would break and the intruder would arrive and bite me anyway. (In an earlier play, I was able to get the washer down to 7 minutes after a lot of moves but it was still at 9 minutes after staying in bed the whole time.)
Hello! Thanks for feedback.
Regarding core gameplay, there is this issue that if we had explained every detail of the game thoroughly, i think it would have deducted from experience, yet it seems we were too vague.
If you still interested, the whole game works on "opportunities" and every few moments each enemy has one, then the difficulty will decide if enemy will actually take action.
Yes, that makes enemies a bit inconsistent and quirky. Freezing - the most, as you theoretically may need to spend whole night under the bed. Regarding the fail conditions, you need to manage washing machine to your left, watch for skeleton at the front and not let the dino in the house at all.
Regarding window, its press and hold, then listen for sfx of him leaving. My bad.
And lastly for the time passage, i think its for the best - keeps up the tension.
Again, thanks for giving our game a try, albeit not meeting the expectations.
I got jumpscared by a dinosaur. I was NOT ready for that lmfao.
I like the fact everything has a distinctive audio queue and the surreal nature of it all. I played nights 1 and 2.
It took me a bit to realise which things could be interacted with and which "rooms" there were. I didn't expect to have to go into the "fridge" room to interact with the fridge, rather expecting to interact through the kitchen itself. My other criticism would be that I would like to have a way to see the time left in the night.
Also tiny ""bug"" report: You keep the item between game overs/going to the main menu.
I found it funny, nice game for a gamejam.
Hello!
Regarding the interactions, they are a bit unintuitive indeed. We plan to update the game after the jam to address these issues.
(for instance making on hover outline around the interactible objects)
Regrettably, we just didn't have enough time to implement all our ideas, as it commonly happens.
I am happy that you liked our game regardless and thanks for your feedback!
