How does your game represent "Slick"?
in order to start... you'll have to be slick. (can YOU get 2026 clicks?!)

Cool. The vibe and presentation of this reminds me of the trippy places like Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
You know what, I like the otherworldly nostalgic feeling of the game.
thank you for playing!!
This was a very interesting idea. The audio and visuals felt pretty nostalgic. I didn't expect the game to throw us into a puzzle right away, but it was a cool idea. Nice work!
thanks!
The vibes were pretty good here. I think the click area for the mites could be bigger, but other than that it was a pretty interesting ride going from nothing to something just by interacting with the UI. Writing was pretty good too! Good job.
Funny making the menu a puzzle. The button got slicker as the game progressed and the mites too!
I loved discovering that spam clicking the start button when it didn't seem to work was intentional! Like needing to turn the key in an old car a few times. I feel like I unearthed CD-Ron from some sort of purgatory, a long lost forgotten OS mascot. The retro vibe of this game feels nostalgic and the idea behind the whole thing is inspired. Once I hit 400 clicks, I think I would immediately die and respawn every time due to an evil mite spawning on my cursor. I really wanted to get further and tried a few times but couldn't get past this unfortunately. I see a lot of promise in this idea nonetheless, and I am keen to see where you take it! Great work!
Quite interesting, the vibe is really quite special. The game was a bit confusing at first but I actually felt as if this added to the experience of exploring a "broken" game. Slowly getting more features is also a great way not to overwhelm the player. I do think collecting mites and collecting other stuff with the cursor was a bit finicky, apart from that it was a very fun and unique experience!
thank you!
it seems most players agree on the mites haha
I actually changed them to be harder to catch like 15 mins or something before uploading for good lol. lessons!
Love the Vibe of your game! The start kinda gave me the same feeling like "There is no game". Very unique and creative style!
thank you for playing!!
This is really cool! I love the vibe. I love how weird and mysterious it all is. Especially the settings menu.
Unfortunately the game keeps resetting on me after magic mites spawn in. (Although given the vibe of this game maybe it's intentional?)
I think increasing the size of the mites (or the cursor) would be a nice change. Being able to just swipe over the screen to collect mites would feel pretty good I think. Currently it requires a bit too much precision.
This game definitely has something special going on. I enjoyed it. Well done!
thank you! I think everyone is having the problem I was worried about. the character (ron) on top of the button is supposed to tell you how to kill the mite fleas, which are tiny mites. he does,(with a slick shot!) but he says it way to fast and right as theyre already killing the player, if you don't move the mouse pretty quick lol.
the slick shot its holding right MB and pressing LMB at the same time, it shoots from the side of the cursor to the right and kills mite fleas .
edit: thanks again for playing and giving feedback, I appreciate it!
very unique concept, i enjoyed it! i was happy to get a lot of mites & cd's
thank you for playing!! I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
I really liked the subversion of expectations at the beginning with the start screen, and the magic mites brought joy
thanks for playing, and I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed the magic mites! (one of my fav parts as well haha)
This game made me laugh, and I enjoyed that it lets you explore and discover. I loved that new UI just pops up as objectives in the game appear. It feels deep-fried and self-aware, but also at times I was super lost as to whether I was doing the right thing or if the game wasn't responding correctly. Do you have to click on the mites? Sometimes I collected them, and other times it felt like they didn't do anything. I like that it just throws you into the game with no explanation. I just started to spam the start button intuitively and it was fun to figure out that was actually part of the game. At some point the game restarted me from the beginning and then there was no way out of the settings menu.
thanks for playing and for the feedback!
I really appreciate you taking the time. I really wanted to give the player a sense of discovery, so I'm glad you experienced that!
as for being confused what to do at times, this was a time management issue.
I really wanted to have CD_Ron (the dude in game) give more guidance and explanation to the player, but as the deadline approached I had to make a decision what to work on during the last few hours and because of other buggy systems I wasn't ever able to fully flesh this out.
I had a blast developing this and feel like it has potential, so this is something I'll definitely work on if I do ultimately decide to keep developing this game further.
thanks again for your thoughts!
edit: forgot to mention why the game likely restarted for you. if the MITE FLEAS (tiny, tiny mites that chase the mouse cursor) hit you, it restarts.
Ron says it but it can be missed and it's really not clear enough at all to the player.
learned a lot in this jam for sure!
So glad I got so many magic mites :)
thanks for playing! (and mentioning magic mites, my fav sprite from this I made!)
WOW MITES!
many many mites!
(thanks for playing!)
