Otherwise great. Reminded me of Galaxy Trucker.
We definitely took a lot of inspiration from the game. We actively tried to make different choices so it wouldn't be too similar.
Oh wow I love this game!!
I liek both teh assembling part and the landing part, I think its a pretty cool idea.
I dont like that everything is so dark it is pretty easy to die trying to land, and anso its frustrating if you already did some progress to just die and having to start all over.
But I'm enjoying it a lot! Very good job for a jam and for a first game!!
EDIT: omg i got stuck between 2 rocks, I didnt even died and I have to restart 😭
What an interesting concept! The autotravel was unfortunate as I would have probably enjoyed more of the shooting aspect of the game. The levels had fun mechanics tied to them that expanded what you knew to add further complexity. The rewards felt a bit repetitive after a while but there is a nice bit of concepting to making funky ships!
I love space games, so I was immediately interested!
Nice job!
I like everything about the game. The building system the way it looks and the ship controll. The only thing I didn't like was that the autopilot couldn't be controlled. It would be cool if you could control the guns or something like that. But still a great game.
Yeah we definitely should have tried to do less and focus more on perfecting 1 or 2 things. I appreciate you taking the time to look at our game.
what a epic space travel experience, all mechanics are cool, too
Firstly, great job completing your first game and game jam! This is very impressive for having been your first! The graphics look great, and the story seems intriguing. Unfortunately, I couldn't get very far. Maybe its just me, but controlling the ship is very difficult. It took a very long time just to get it positioned right. Although this gripe could just be because I'm not a big fan of spaceship controls. Also, it took me a long time to figure out that I could press 'r' to rotate parts. Maybe add that to the itch page? The sequences where your travelling are cool, but get boring really quick as you just have to sit there and watch. A great solution would be to hand over control of attacking to the player. Otherwise, great job on the game!
Thank you for trying out our game and leaving feedback. I've added your suggestion to the itch page. One of the biggest lesson I learned this jam is that you need to test your game early and often (and by as many people as possible).
A neat ship building space flight simulator. The design is quite intuitive and I enjoyed the customization as well as the zero-g navigation. I can see the game being very expandable with just more mission types, more ship components, and maybe other mechanics like crews.
My main complaints for the game are the lighting and downtime issues. It was very difficult to see structures in the dark and the ship light was doing more distraction than help. And it is a little unclear what has collision and what does not. As for the downtime issues it's mainly about the auto-flight. It is cool looking at you ship doing its job almost like a tower defense game, but I can't help but feel like it would be more fun if there is something I can do instead of sitting there for a minute. Maybe give the player one manual weapon that's always available so the player can participate in that part of the game too.
Overall I enjoyed the experience. Nicely done.
Thanks for the feedback it means a lot. Having something to do in the tower defense phase was actually planned initially but we kinda forgot about the easy options (having a turret you control) and scrapped the harder ideas (manually walking around).
The zero-gravity feel of the controls was great, and the character designs were really well done. I wasn’t fully sure how to park the spaceship in the dock though, so maybe a bit more guidance or feedback there would help.
Thank you for playing, I added a little gif and explanation to the page in case others run in to the same issues (as we're not really allowed to update the game anymore).
Okay legit, the game looks peak! It incorporates the theme really well and is pretty fun, I like the concept and character designs too! Good work you two!
Thanks, feel free to leave rating as well 🙏
Done :D
