Very original concept ! 400 is way too hard for me XD

Very original use of the game of life, once you get 400 points is almost impossible to keep playing, beside that, it was fun!

The way the audio built up as the tempo built up was a really nice touch. Making the player learn the rules by trial and error is an audacious choice for a jam - I like it! A really cool and innovative effort.

I'm not sure if there was a bug or something (or if it just ran slow on my ancient machine) but I found when I got to 185 the game just froze then jumped to slightly over 200 and said I'd stayed in the same column too long.

I like this game. The animations are super satisfying but at the high beats make my eyes hurt '_'

I dont get the rules and make 400 points by pure random and brute force. I dont think it's good and I dont think it's bad. If the player dont know the rules, he could quit and ragebait, so be careful with it.

Simple game for 2-3 minutes, maybe more. I think some upgraded version of this game would be good on mobile. Good job!

The beats go hard with increase in tempo

Truly innovative and fun once you understand how to play!

Submitted

I didn't really understand the rules, but I still had a lot of fun playing!

This is a really clever one!
Nicely put together and slightly dangerous with how easy it is to do "just one more try"!

Very original idea, game feels intuitive to play and is very engaging. Had to make it to 400, I did, but after like 300 points its starting to be pure luck thing to not stay where red will occur (but it's still fun tho)

I really tried to figure out the rules to this... but apart from not staying in a column for too long, I had NO idea what caused cells to turn green or red. I assumed it was game of life... and maybe it was? But I couldn't beat 318 as a score. The pace certainly picks up and got me concentrating, but without too much stress. Great game!

The visual and aesthetics are great and the game is easy to understand and is a lot fun to play. I like the flicking of each cells. Great job on the game!

I felt intrigued and mesmerized. The aesthetics are superb, and the execution is flawless. The idea of having the player figure out the rules, rather than explaining them, is brilliant. I only wish I were smart enough to meet your expectations and achieve a meaningful score.

Hello, Thank for your nice comment, it's great to see that people enjoy it, I was very nervous of not being good enough considering the great quality of the game jam.

Amazing concept! It took me a while to figure out the rules,  but I got invested enough to try and figure out a strategy for getting past 150-200. It does seem like it was a bit luck based, but I had a ton of fun anyways! Loved the arcade-style visuals and music as well.

I still don't quite understand the rules but had so much fun not understanding it. You did a good job creating a sense of urgency that wasn't stressful. Love when a simple idea can be so much fun.

Thank you for your comment, I also made video recording for your game, take a look.

Neat game with a simple and complete game loop. Enjoyable enough that I had to keep trying until I got 400. Managed to get it but after like 200 or so, it felt like just button mashing to get out of the row & column, combined with luck that the red didn't encroach too fast. Novel concept with good execution overall.

Thank you so much for your review. Practice made it easy for me to consistently reach 600, so I set it to 300 thinking it would be a good challenge for most people. But in the end, I was afraid it would be too easy, so I raised it to 400, haha. I think 300 was ideal. Thanks again for your kind comment.

What a game! So addictive!! My best score is 188 but I want to do better :) I understood approximatly how it works after 4 try and then it was cool! Congrats =)

Hi Lysdora, thank you so much for your comment, it made me really happy. I was worried it might be too cryptic, so it's a relief to know it wasn't so bad. You're the highest-rated person I know, besides myself haha.
