Theme Interpretation
Journey - You are on a journey to complete scanning each zone through an uncharted area. Cartographer - It is your job to scan and upload each zone. Hidden in Plain sight - No areas are hidden but they are technically undiscovered. Bullet time - This one is barely used but I personally think it is with how you must turn your headlights off when spotting an enemy within a certain amount of time or you lose.

Creepy game, just unsettling enough, nice job.  The van sprite is really nice, looks like it was a lot of work.  I really liked the headlight effects too, the way the trees have multiple shadows is nice (its like we have multiple sources) and the subtle red light behind.

Managed to only find four areas before running out of fuel and I feel like I explored all the road and even did a fair bit of off-roading - is there another section of road that is not connected to the starting path?  Also, minor bug, but the gameover screen assumes you died from failing the headlight reaction test and not running out of fuel.

Thanks for playing! It’s 9 separate chunks/ areas in a 3 x 3 grid. Each time you start they are randomly placed. So it’s probably fair to maybe assume there is a rare situation that might block the path but through my testing, it never happened. But it was rushed and ran out of time so the level design could be a lot better. I was able to finish it the times I did it but also I’m the one to make it so that’s not fair lol.

I like this horror. The text at the start is annoying, so I learned as I played, it's more fun this way.

I love the art of the car and its directions and the mechanic for the little shadow guy is cool. But the sound for the scanning hurts my ears so much man

This is a cool game. It is spooky and simple to play. I played twice and didn't get all the areas, on my 2nd try I think I had 2 or 3 left to get. Both times ran out of fuel.

I think some kind of map would be helpful maybe that just shows where you've already been.

It is nicely spooky, and the artwork is lovely. Was the Van a 3d sprite?

Solid game and I think this could become something very interesting.

Yeah it definitely would be better with a map and thought about it but ran out of time. The van was one of few vehicle sprites on itch. (https://minzinn.itch.io/pixelvehicles). I probably should not have made the map random lol. I had 9 areas and they get shuffled around each time you start, so you never really do the same map lay out. But that leaves some tries a lot harder than others. Thanks for playing!

Interesting game that reminds me of Slenderman and Pacific Drive in all the best ways. Lightning was definitely the highlight of the game.

Great Job!

Lighting is good!

Game over direction is unique!

I'm directionally challenged so I wasn't able to explore everything :'-(

Developer

Thanks! Yeah no problem lol. The "level design" is pretty bad and I ran out of time. It was almost more than what my skill set could handle and I could not get a few things to work. But it can be completed but its a bit obnoxious lol.
