Going from that pixel art to that animation caught me off guard! Mini games were simple and didn't take long at all to finish the game. Not necessarily a bad thing for a jam, though
Loved the eerie vibes, and would've loved to see more of that gorgeous animation!
Great little game! Very impressive that you have a full animated cutscene and proper game for that small amount of time.
The short scene where the lights go out and sparks come out of the train was so DAMN cool
Congratulations on your game. I was very impressed with the cutscene and the smooth animation. I wasn't expecting that. It was a very pleasant surprise.
Sick animations, impressed with your storyboarding. Fun games and keybinding option
Very cool idea and interesting take on the theme! The game loop is nice and compact, which made it a very enjoyable experience. The animation was insanely good :D
Very impressive art/animation/cinematics!
+1 to everyone's comments about the hand drawn cutscene animations, those were super cool! I also really liked the parallax effect on the main menu, very nice! I noticed there's no collision on the walls below the "mantis" monster, and you can walk out of the game world a bit, but it didn't cause any problems.
Very eerie and definitely strange, i loved the cutscenes animations, those smears were nice!
I really liked the presentation on this, especially the drawn cutscenes. They were smooth and really well done. The portions with the hand-drawn style gave the whole experience a lot of personality. The pixel art was good as well.
The subway setup leading into that strange in-between world was a cool take on the theme. That moment where everything shifted felt unexpected in a good way and definitely captured the “strange places” vibe. The mini-games against the creatures were a fun touch and kept things varied.
Overall, the atmosphere and visual storytelling stood out the most to me. Nice job on this one.
Nice and simple, but damn this animation was clean!
That animation was so good. Short and sweet game that was easy to understand and play, nice work!
great game! I had a similar concept (e.g. a story + minigames) in my submission too, so it was really cool to play your game. The pixel art was nice and the animation when the character goes into the strange world was phenomenal! overall it was a very fun experience. My only suggestions would be for slightly more challenging minigame, I felt like it was too short and I wanted to spend more time into that strange world :D
The cinematic took me by surprise, it was so well done. Loved the classic mini games too, kept it nice and simple. Fit the theme well too, strange creatures in a strange place!
Really impressed by the cinematic, I loved it!
I liked that the goal of the game was clear and that I was able to finish it.
We also used Godot, but we went in a different direction for our game. It’s more like an autobattler tower defense roguelite.
It’s so cool to see so many ideas starting from one theme, especially when they’re also from the Godot family!
The animation and drawings were impressive! I do wish the games were related to the monsters that you compete against though, I think that'd tie back better to the story.
Woah, really great animation! That was super cool. I liked the Yokai-esque worldbuilding, too.
Nice job!
I have never been caught more off guard than playing this game. i really just went oo okay cool normal game to then see a full cinematic thrown into. phenominal work
art was amazinggg
