How does the game fit the theme?
In order to cook themselves a meal, player will have to travel to four strange dimensions to gather ingredients.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
In terms of code only some minor scripts like player controller and dialog manager and maybe three shaders. I reused only one model (valve), and reused something around 3 minor textures. Also font wasn't made by me. The rest was all from scratch.

Really awesome game, loved all the different dimensions and the concept of collecting something from each! Especially loved the competing for food in the abyss depth, really nice atmosphere! In total absolutely stunning for the short amount of time.
I like the dimensional travel concept, it’s a nice idea.
The puzzles are engaging, and it’s a strong effort for a solo dev.
Nice work! 💚
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.
Had trouble with the first two worlds, but saw your comments about them and then figured them out. Really creative and strange worlds. Great job on really leaning into the strange vide and making a really entertaining experience.
It was hard but I was able to get into it! I liked this!! :D
Absolutely lovely!
It took me a little while to figure out what to do in each dimension, but I eventually managed and got all the ingredients, and making the dinner was very satisfying indeed! Best Strange Lands so far, and my favorite.
Really enjoyed the artstyle and all the enviromnents! Good job!
The ability to phase between different dimensions is a interesting mechanic, and I like how it’s tied to collecting different ingredients. Each dimension having its own distinct setting and design makes the game feel fresh. Great job on your solo game!
Thanks for playing and glad you liked it :D
Man I had almost all ingredients and I pressed 1 on keyboard... It closes the game... But I wanted to see what will I cook so I played it again and successfully made that casserole! All the dimensions were very creative and nice to play, especially the first and last one. If I have to nitpick in the first dimension I think it would be better that you can just put fruit in their mouth, not having to drop it and also in the bottom feeders part it's seems to me that it's a bit random if I'm gonna get it or no. Overall beautiful stylish goofy puzzle I like this very much :)
I... might have forgotten to comment out debug keys... Sorry for that! But I'm also very happy that you decided to finish the game regardless! I suppose that just putting fruit would be actually easier method to implement and less annoying for the player, I don't know why i decided to make it harder for myself and players, I guess it was just during game jams I'm more in a "do" mode rather a "think" mode :D. For the feeders I also agree that it was a bit random though I didn't have an idea how to improve it, oh well. Still thank you very much for playing and kind words! :)
Hey, I just rated your game. Really solid work. Congrats!
I managed to complete the 3rd and 4th worlds, but I didn’t fully understand what I was supposed to do in the first two, especially what to do with those green things you can carry in the first world. Let me know what I missed.
I’ve set it aside to give it another try later.
Thanks for playing my game! Sadly I didn't quite finish in-game instructions/hints, but in the first level you need to throw those fruits into "mouths/beaks" of the tree in the middle. You need to throw 3 fruits to each one of the 3 mouths and they will close after they are full. To reach the upper ones you need the help of the yellow guys. After mouths are full, ingredients will sprout out of the ground! As for the second level you need to acquire holy jellyfish juice. Though the moment you approach one they disappear (they are illusory). The real ones can be found by looking at the flying carts when they fly by waterfalls. Within some of them you can see the real ones and you need to jump to get them. Now that i wrote those instructions out, they are completely ridiculous and I totally should have found time to include them in the game, but oh well. Thanks again for playing!
This needs more exposure, what an experience it was super fun dimension hopping and figuring out what needed to be done to get the ingredients. Great meshes and environments, they way they have been implemented really pulls together that strange place theme. From one solo dev to another, amazing job!
It is ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL that this game has only a couple reviews at the moment! DGH embodies the "strange places" theme better than any of the games I've tried so far and was a joy to experience. Not only is each area visually distinct and interesting, but the way you gently prompt the player to explore and interact with each one makes them truly immersive! I love that you also took the time to incorporate a short storyline and conclusion to the game too. An amazing experience all around!
good game, I liked all these locations
