A great, fast-paced game with a clever use of the crank for the three weapons. While hitting three enemies with the colt is the biggest challenge, it's incredibly fun and the soundtrack is spot on. The start feels a bit tough, though—some slower enemies at the beginning would have been a nice touch.

Thanks for playing the game and for your comment. We were planning on having a gradual difficulty, but obviously we didn't have much time. If we continue with the game, we will definitely add it!

Cool idea, very polished and really satisfying sound effects. I really like the use of the crank with the different weapons. My only complaint is using the d-pad to slowly move a cursor to aim, it just didn't feel that great to me especially in tandem with the crank movements. I think the game might still be fun if the aiming was locked to each rail and you changed rails by tapping the d-pad, I just think something like that might feel a lot tighter than dragging a cursor around. Really solid overall though!

Fun game! I liked how the randomization was built into the game loop & it made good use of all the playdate's capabilities.

Thank you!

I think the directory is nested too deep, top entry in the ZIP file should be just "Rail Gunner.pdx" as opposed to "Rail Gunner/Rail Gunner.pdx".  Also, "pdxversion" and "buildtime" lines are duplicated in the pdxinfo file, and bundleID is missing.

Agreed, I've just discovered these and fixed these on my own.  My pdxinfo looks like this now, and the game sideloads and is working with it:

name=Rail Gunner

author=4 gatti

version= 1.0.0

imagePath=images/meta_images

contentWarning=This game was made during PlayJam 9

pdxversion=30003

buildtime=824589740

buildNumber=1

bundleID=com.4gatti.RailGunner

I like, how they integrated different playdate inputs like shaking, cranking and dpad.

For the worse things, aside of the easily fixable package errors. -  It would really help to make the aiming reticle more visible, especially for the revolver. I die after shaking, because I waste my time for searching the reticle on the screen.

Also the game is really punishing right now, at least for me. Some difficulty options or gradually scaling the difficulty - enemy speed over time would be nice.

In general, it's a promising game, which I would like to see in the catalog in the future, but it needs some polish.

Sorry both of you, this is our first time creating a game on Playdate. The download should be fine now. Please let us know if you encounter any other issues.
