This was a fun game. Grabbing onto the sock was sometimes a bit finicky, but apart from that, sockcess!

Fun game. Simple concept and funny story + jokes

Hey there, feller lost-socker lol.

This was such a fun take on the theme lol. Lost socks traveling through strange places is weirdly perfect :)

The sling mechanic feels really satisfying. Stretching and launching the sock has great feedback. The SFX (the stretch and thumps) make it feel impactful. The sticky water mechanic was a clever addition, too and changed how you think about shots.

Was NOT expecting aliens though lol.

Really charming concept with solid traversal. This would be really good on mobile.

thanks for the feedback.

The itch version is mobile compatible but the zoom messes up sometimes.

That was very good, i like the ideas to play with the socks, and the music is good

I need more lvls

I liked the sling traversal and it felt good, but the electrical wiring part was tuned to require too much precision considering where the checkpoint was.  It became extremely tedious to fail the long shot to the end, where you have to take 20-40 seconds to get set back up to attempt your shot again.  From a difficulty curve standpoint, the first level requires too much subtle mastery of the controls and that kind of punishing scenario should come after a few levels of practicing other techniques and feeling out the controls.

This concept is great and has legs as a larger scale project.

Pretty fun game! Was confused for a while about some of the sewer walls not being walls before learning the water mechanic, and regarding the third level, I wished there was a brief moment where you can't stick right as you start launching.. Still finished it though!

Developer

thanks for the feedback. Yeah in level 3 you can cheese pretty hard climbing the walls because you stick instantly, a fix is definitely a good idea. Thanks for reuniting the socks

although I didn't finish it (stopped at the third level trying to get across the moving parts) I had fun playing it! The main mechanic is simple but it has depth, because each missed shot has a consequence. I think its quite fun to play, and I also think the ability to do smaller shots + shots while you are landing would make it (i.e. to prevent from rolling into sewer water) would make the gameplay even more fun.

I also really appreciate the story and the humor. I loved the messages when you die or complete a level :)

thanks for the review, the moving platforms are a little hard. I agree there is room for improvement with the power of shots.

Certainly fit the 'Strange Places' brief! Missing sock was a great concept as well. Audio mix is too hot on some cues (the thud for example) and becomes repetitive as there is no round-robin of sound effects. Gameplay got stuck on the black ring - could benefit from a clearer indication of what can and can't be navigated by the player character.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, did you check out level 3? Less thud there

Really cool gameplay and theme! Was very fun to play

Very nice game! I was not very good at it, but the slingshot mechanic and puzzle-like level design were great! Good work!

I sock! I found it quite hard but the visuals, audio, and gameplay was so smooth and fun! Fun setting and story, too. Great work, thanks!

Developer

thanks for the review!

This entry made me laugh a few times! Gameplay is also very fun and I don't remember launching socks in other games!

Now that was socking awesome! Great little game that I'm not very good at, but had fun regardless. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

thanks for the review, I know the game is missing a little raccoon…

I had a little talk with Mr. raccoon and he claims not to have messed with our game, but I don't know... (we're still looking into why you couldn't get the ending :( )

Very satisfying Game I love stretching and throwing the Sock!

I enjoyed playing this game! In some cases I found it hard to know where my sock would land, maybe adding a kind of preview of the trajectory of the sock could enhance the gameplay experience? The subtle introduction of new mechanics in the later levels, such as the sticky water sock, was enjoyable and felt intuitive!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, we we're thinking about implementing a trajectory indicator but math is hard... I hope we can add it in a later version.

I enjoyed this. I cheesed the first half of level 3 but i think it may have only been marginally easier than if I was to do it the intended way. I like the way the concept fits with the theme. I also love a good pun and the death screen, and the level complete screen made me giggle the first time I saw them

I think that the way the physics work could be tuned up a bit. there seemed to be parts where the sock collider interacted with the ground right after launching it.

average score 4/5

I liked the slingshot mechanic and the way the mechanics are taught. I found the game to be quite unforgiving since you have to come to a full stop to be able to slingshot again, and aren't able to save yourself from a bad situation by slingshotting again. Otherwise good gameplay.

Developer

Good point! I would have liked to include a mid Air jump of somekind, with a little more time to our hands. Thanks for playing :)

The mario aesthetics. The puns. The fling mechanics. I really enjoy it a lot! The song is also really relaxing to listen to
