Really appreciate the surprises in the story, I was not expecting the story to be about that, but it was obvious in hindsight from the title. The gameover dialogue is really nice touch as well. I had to have a second go and managed to complete the cure.
The scenarios are all nicely written but I never managed to find chamomile, berries, or a meal to make a real camp. I also liked how the fog of war was a little see-through so you could sort of see the best path to take.
I made the cure, but I hope I still have the respect of the wolves.
Super detailed lore, caught me off guard. I thought I'd just stroll into the forest and then wow an entire storyline appeared! Nicely done. Fun game, the hunters did NOT want to leave me alone!
I feel like I won the game by collecting only the metal and the vial? Not sure, it said I was mortal again and then faded to black. Interesting... Lots of fun!
the writing was really good and im someone thats very picky when it comes to dialogues but everything just felt natural. those hex tiles look amazing and are very fitting for this game
The narrative in this game was pretty interesting. The encounters provided meaningful choices, but could benefit from increased variety. Unfortunately I lost at what feels would be the very end, when after collecting all ingredients I went to the apothecary at night and then hunters got me on the finishing tile.
Yeah totally agree, we just ran out of time to write and add in more encounters.
Oh no! yes if you made it back during the daytime it would have ended the game with making the cure.
Thanks for playing and your feedback :)
The systems design here felt really solid! The different encounters gave interesting choices relating to the stamina and the hunters.
I think I won? After getting the cure, it just faded to black, so it wasn't clear.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Ah yeah, I should have added a proper ending screen, but was running out of time and brain haha
What a lovely game! I really felt some purpose while wandering the landscape.
I did encounter a bug at the end(?) where the hunters happened to track me down right after I made the cure which seems to have soft locked the game or something.
But one bug is impressively little for such a complex game!!
Nicely done y'all!
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Ah bummer, will have to investigate that bug later, thanks for the info :)
Great work on the submission! i was really impressed by all the writing and interaction you can have in this game that was made in such a short time!
Thanks for the feedback and playing the game :)
I really enjoyed writing and visuals, there's a lot of cool content and ideas in the game.
The lack of music or any audio feedback hurts a bit though. Game is long and wandering in the map without any music or audio feedbacks dulls a bit the experience.
Being caught by the hunters felt a bit uneventful, each time I picked "Fight them" and I won each time. This defeats a bit the mechanism of endurance since I can rest pretty much anywhere and anytime. Maybe I just got really lucky. At the same time I don't know if I would have appreciated to die before the end. I feel like I didn't really have control over the hunt besides a few events. It's probably really hard to balance between the size of the map, the narrative and the ingredients to get.
Good job still, there's definitely a lot good things in there.
Thanks for playing the game :)
Totally agree, music would have gone a long way to enhancing the experience.
Yeah totally, we ran out of time to properly play test and balance the game, appreciate the feedback!
