How does the game fit the theme?
As this game jam's theme is Strange Places... this game is set in dreams...or mind... Both are strange places....
You are somewhere familiar.

But you have never been here. The mind is a terrible place to be trapped in.

Really enjoyed the vibe and idea! The dragging mechanic feels unique, just wish the controls were a bit smoother. Still had fun experimenting with it :)

Developer

Thanks! I hope you tried to grab enemies to pull them away AND trap them behind Sofas! 🏃‍♂️😂

The mechanic is original and has real potential if the concept is pushed a bit further.

However, the controls feel a bit counterintuitive (fortunately the explanation video helps). The hitbox for interactable objects is also a bit small, which sometimes makes them hard to grab. Enemies seem a bit buggy as well, they disappear, reappear elsewhere, and go through walls, which can make you die a bit too easily.

Developer

To be honest the enemy is supposed to be walk in and out of the Dream world this game is set in. BUT, i had messed up the 3 levels I was putting in and only submitted the Game build with just one “playable” Level 😅

Thanks for the Morale Boost! Bit insight to the setting if I could publish with the missing 2 Levels:- The character Aditi is literally being dragged around by you even when she is drugged and not relating to the fake world with weirdly “arranged” furniture. The enemy is somebody unknown but wants to be in her world hence the name of the game is… Enmeshment

I see many people complain about conrtols. I just go to pause and settings and switch camera movement or whatever it called and that became much easier. I dont feel like controls are super bad for me. BUT for average player this movement and going to the settings to change it to more comfortable is really bad idea and I think like 80% of players ragebait and quit. Otherwise artstyle is quite good and I like it. Sounds are also nice but there is no sounds for walking and moving things like at all. Also the moving mechanic looks really strange when you move character like object, you should make it by pointing character to some direction to move it I think. UI is actually bad and mismatch the rest of the graphics. Also I noticed you can move objects through walls, I dont think it is supposed to work this way. The rest of the game is quite simple and fine but it is too short, took me 2-3 minutes without trying to understand the movement

Hey, thanks for checking the game out with an open mind! There’s a very specific feeling you would have gotten when playing the game …that is how much game has been through late-stage cuts and last moment developemnt 😅

I made it to the end eventually. Nice audio visual style to give it the liminal vibe. Really disliked the camera control, dragging it around felt bad, sluggish and slow plus it sometimes zoomed in or out by itself when not clicking RMB. Would have much preferred something like moving the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen to scroll the screen in that direction or even simple directional arrows to move the camera.

I didn’t understand the controls even with the instructions… Maybe it’s me :-)

I don't understand what I'm meant to do. What are the controls? I can pick stuff up (only because I saw someone elses comment) but WASD doesn't see to work, only shakes the screen.

The Level design took time and I only managed to submit the game. The UI was all left out.

In the first room, you will find the sofa blocking your way, tray dragging it aside aaaaaaaaaaand then drag the Character named “Aditi” out of the room and into a hall full of Sofas…

Not bad. I still don't get it. But still not bad.

I think this game needs a tutorial, it took me a while to realize I could move objects with my mouse
