I love the art! The whole game looks absolutely gorgeous, those 2D sprites were a great idea. The way the theme is incorporated into the game is also very creative! I also very much liked the main menu screen animations, gives very homey and polished vibes.

This is sooo cool.
Loved the 2d hd style and a really good gameplay idea.
I would only improve a little bit the aim indicator.

Developer

Yeah I kinda copied this arrow system from an older game Wich used wasd or a joystick, with the mouse it doesn’t work that well… Thanks for playing and for the kind words anyway !

Graphics are really cool! I love how much detail is in the ice texture and it’s a really cool 2D/3D aesthetic. The actual mechanic of sliding the penguin is really fun too. I agree with other players that having a little screen at the end to signify the round ending with the total score and perhaps time or number of bounces or something would be a fun stat. Great game! (Also a note that I think players are less likely to download games so perhaps adding a web build too would help boost your plays! ^^)

Thanks for your comment ! We initially made three levels for the game, but we forgot to place the end of the level that allow you to go to the next. As for the web build, unreal engine cannot make web games.

I like the visual representation and the background music fit into the vibe. Its a peaceful fun game and congrats on building it in the provided timeframe! Some parts that might have elevated it would be a slight glow or color change of the penguins that you hit during the slide. They do follow you, but I think a visual feedback representation would be more impactful. Also the game immediatelly restarts after you do all shots. Maybe it would be more interesting if at the end of all the shots all the penguin dance with you until the player hits "Start Again". Well done again :)

Wow didn't expect this is made with Unreal, the pixel art in 3d scene combined with ice textures and smooth lighting builds up a really appealing environment, which kinda reminds me the art style of Octopath Traveler. 5/5 Presentation ♡

Thank you so much! We really owe a lot to our dear artists, who put in an incredible amount of work ! It’s always a pleasure to see that people enjoy this project ! I had a great time gliding on your lake too !

This is one of the best games I've seen in terms of style; the design is fantastic, the angles, the surroundings, the atmosphere, and the cozy feeling are all perfectly captured. However, the gameplay could be even better with a few more additions. Great work! I'd appreciate it if you tried our game too.

Thank you a lot! I’ll definitely check your game out when I can, currently not home, but I’m sure my teammates will do soon enough! There is more to the game, unfortunately there’s a bug that block the next levels of the game

I understand you perfectly. We also suffered a lot because of the mistakes that happened in the final stages and sacrificed a large part of the game :D
In any case, games with original artistry are always ahead, and I think your game has captured that very well.

Nice game! I like in game filling while playing in pinguin bouling.

Small notes from UE developer:
1) You can disable NNERuntimeORT plugin to reduce package size for 150 mb.
2) You can also switch to DX11 and turn off SM6 support. It will reduce ~300mb of package size
3) Also you can package in shipping build target in will remove debug files from package

Developer

We didn’t really had time to change the shipping settings unfortunately, but we will definitely shrink the file size down when debugging the game. Thanks for your return and for your advice :D

Nice concept, a little more in-game explanation of what to do would go a long way.

Congrats on a great game !

Thanks a lot for your feedback and for taking the time to try our game !

We’ll definitely take that on board : we’re going to add a short onboarding and a few in-game hints (the jam deadline got the better of us lol). Glad you liked the game, thanks for playing !
