How did you implement the Theme: Sea Witch in your game?
The game centers around a quest to locate the "Sea Witch," someone who may be capable of extending the life of the protagonist.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
I plan to implement all three in the final version, but for now...
"Renewing Tide" as the protagonist's basic ability.

Did you create your game in RPG Maker?

Yes

Does your game contain AI-generated assets?

No

Nice job! I appreciate the humor and the different approach to gameplay. I think the battles could use some balancing. Maybe having fewer would be easier to balance and feel less repetitive for the player?

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm certainly working on pacing in the full version (including having some "open world/walk around" style segments). With combat balancing, do you think it leans too hard or too easy?

I found for battles on the first map, I could mostly just hold down attack and win without thinking. For the second map (with the town), I had to use some strategy toward the end and then the pigeon / seagull battle was painful — too much healing for my tastes. But these are just my opinions of course!

I'll definitely take a closer look at balancing for a full release. Thanks :)

This one is my favorite of the Jam so far. The combat was really well done.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Very interesting and unique battle system. Probably the best one I've seen in a while in RPG Maker to be fair.

Another strong point is the funny dialogue between the characters, I like that.

Overall good game and best wishes for the jam :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I'm definitely a fan of turn based combat, so I knew I wanted it to be a big focus for the game :)
