7:15 minutes, cool idea, hard but doable when you get the hang of it. I think can be expanded upon with some QoL changes, you could make a rougelite out of this
Thx for the feedback ! I am aware of the possibles QoL improvements and I thought of the rogue lite aspect but hardly doable in 3 days solo :D
Solid idea, had an issue where my character wasn't firing properly for some reason, but apart from that, good job :)
Thx for your feedback !
Controlling two characters like this always throws me off, haha. Interesting idea and solid execution. I could see lotsa variation with different skills and levels.
The eagle flying over you before the roll is a nice touch. The rotation itself made me nauseous as well, unfortunately.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I tried to play with PS4 controller but it was not registered at all.
Thx for the feedback :D As i said in another reply, i didn't think of a motion sickness issue, it's totally my bad, I will check that in future projects. The controller is what unreal engine take by default so yeah i feel like it's normal. Maybe with DS4, it should work. Thx for playing :)
Cool concept, maybe a smaller scope woul've been better considering the time we had.
Lasted 8min15 here
Good job ! Yeah probably :D I consider this game really as a prototype just to get back to unreal (long time no developping). Thx for the feedback !
Very fun idea! At first, I was a bit confused, but after realizing how it works, I spent quite a while protecting the mirror. Also have some potential for various mechanics for enemies.
Thx for your feedback. Sure, more mechanics would have been cool but you know what it is. Too much to do for not enough time :D
The gameplay is very engaging, however the camera flip made me nauseous.
Very creative and a cool concept!
Thx for the feedback ! yeah i didn't really think of the fact that the flip could be a problem. My bad, didn't have the capacity to think that with all the others things i had to do :D.
Very creative, but also very confusing! A really beautiful scene and the whole concept is super creative, it just doesn't play great. Which I guess is a good thing to test out in a game jam. Once you get the hang of concentrating on one side it's not too bad until the camera decides to do a barrel roll 😅
Really cool concept and a great thing to try out in a game jam
Thx for the feedback ! It's not the game i'm the proudest of but i learnt many things in that jam. Being solo dev on a 3 days jam made me take the first idea i imagined :D. Maybe I will try Unity before i do another jam to accelerate the coding :)
I was going to ask why the game is so large in size, but I understood when I downloaded it. You've created an incredibly detailed scene design; I was blown away when I saw it. And I guess big size is what Unreal is all about.
By the way, I love the cats. Did you design them?
Thank you very much for your feedback ! Yeah, the game's size is one of the cons of Unreal :D But it's the game engine i know the better :D Unfortunately i'm a programmer and not an artist so all the assets come from asset packs i own. The cats come from Stylized Fantasy Creatures Bundle (Fab).
Thx again for your comment :)
I liked the idea of controlling two characters at once. There are some annoying bugs here and there, like four or five enemies spawning inside each other, or if you're cornered, you can't escape. But overall, it's quite enjoyable.
Thx for your feedback. Yeah i know about the bug where mutliple enemies can spawn inside each other, I would have fixed it with a little more time :D There is no collision between player and enemies so you can't really get cornered normally. The fact is that the range in which the character can move is a circle around the center of the mirror so maybe you were trying to escape in the wrong direction, blocking you :)
Thx for playing
Jam is the third game I've seen made using Unreal Engine, and I really liked it. I loved the stylized structure, the menu background animation, the gameplay, and the mechanics. I would be very happy if you took a look at our game too :3
Thanks for the feedback, i will for sure
