It's a bit like a minesweeper, right? I like this game. The gameplay is simple but addicting. The game is well made: beautiful art, relaxing music.
This is a very interesting evolution of minesweeper. Some in-game help/tooltips about the different tile types would have been nice, but it was easy to figure out with the well-made "how to play" graphic. The visual presentation is very appealing too, and the music and sound effects fit well.
You can pull up the "How to Play" mid-game by pressing M!
Cool concept, great UI, good music and sound effects. Won finally on the 5th attempt. Feels like minesweeper, but definitely more intricate. The different stats and actions are well thought out.
Since moving through cleared areas doesn’t cost anything, the ship should move anywhere reachable in just one click.
Amazing for a game jam. Well done!
Agree about the boat, but I had to keep it as is.
Implementing that kind of movement introduced a ton of bugs, it allowed the player to scan an area and then teleport to the other side of the board. Didn't have enough time to find an easy solution.
Thank you for playing!!
Really cool concept, and very satisfying to win! I love the art and the level of polish is really impressive!
Fun game. I really liked the attention to detail in the menus and instructions.
OOoo I enoyed this game! I had great fun trying to figure out how to win without looking at "how to play" first and I was able to figure out! I love the simple controls and interactions that was very easy to navigate! Congrats on the submission!
Fun game! I won my first game and thought maybe the game was too easy but I had another couple of go's and never won again so I think its plenty difficult enough - I think I just got lucky with finding a lot of fish early in the first game, haha.
The controls screen was a little overwhelming when I first opened it but the game explains itself well and it isn't too complex - after one run people should "get" it. One thing I think would be good is a keyboard shortcut for switching between move, scan, and fire.
One thing I didn't get was the hint tiles. For example, the island hint seems to cover both islands and sandbars (and barrel is supplies or bomb) so it didn't seem useful to me. At least you know its not clear water but is that useful information to know?
Game looks and sounds great too.
nice take on minesweeper, the sfx really matched the game exactly where i thought it would be. I managed to find a few islands but never 3.
I won! What a pleasant little strategy game reminiscent of Minesweeper. Great graphics and chill music. The tutorial was a little overwhelming at first, but I got the hang of the controls and the rules after a few tries.
Thank you! And yes, it became a kinda surprisingly dense game by the end so I was afraid it might be a bit much upfront. With more time I'd love to add an actual tutorial!
Thank you for playing!!
